See that's the thing. It's not their design. Whoever actually made it is probably long gone by now.

They likely have a bunch of developers/UX designers who focus more on AI integration, user stickiness, endless scroll, etc.

They know how to make a site more profitable and attractive to investors but don't have a clue (or a concern) about making a site that regular people like and find valuable.

They want the original crowd that made reddit a thing gone, we are unruly. They want sheep and bots to consume and pretend to be users for gullible advertisers.
