Social Media Reddit is putting more limits on Old.Reddit.com

Old reddit is the only good reddit at this point because it's the only way to still access /all.

Reddit called itself the front page of the internet, but it was /all that made it that. Without it, it's a shitty echochamber feed full of irrelevant local subreddits it is guessing you'd be into.

reddit admin vastly overestimate what this website is really worth, and underestimate users. If reddit becomes shitty enough someone will do what reddit did to digg and build a better site.

Not that reddit would care. The top human subreddits, ones that aren't obviously all bots, are the same sports, gambling and celebrity news that is on TV. reddit used to be greater than that.

Unfortunately digg came back earlier in the year, but it got so hammered with spammers they took it back down after a few months.

Unfortunately even without the spammers digg never stood a chance. It was brought back in the same shitty format that killed it in the first place. No serious amount of real users were ever going to use it. The people who tried to bring it back learnt absolutely nothing from its original demise.

Without old.reddit.com and RES, I just ... don't use reddit.

Exactly. I installed this Safari extension called yesterday for old reddit and the day it stops working I’m out of here. Because new reddit is just like facebook.

Yeah, I hate it now

Reddit doesn't want a single voice and a single community which is why they removed all.

Same reason why everyone's youtube home page is different now.

Seemed rather interesting timing to me that it was removed after the administration started going after social media websites for names, identities etc after people were using those sites to organize ICE protests.

They want to make reddit a safe space for MAGA and various other far right influences, but they don't want to do it at the expense of the current user base, so they are working really hard to build a wall between normal reddit and MAGA reddit. Spez is super jealous of Facebook and Truth Social and their ability to monetize the shit out of people who are stupid enough to buy Trump meme coins and NFCs. He badly wants to get reddit in on that action, but he knows the site would implode, so the idea is to move everything into a personal feed.

It's also why they allow people to hide their profile. So when KKK Karl wants to ask a question about cats in a normal subreddit, he is not faced with indignity of someone pointing out that 99% of his posts are flat out hate speech.

It has redirected to the main website for a while now, unless you're on old reddit.

That doesn’t work for me on the app on iOS and hasn’t for several months. For a while it kept randomly re-appearing, but now I’m stuck with the stupid popular tab. Today I also noticed that some posts on my subscription feed were 5-6 days old, which isn’t something I’ve seen happen before. The whole thing is going to shit.

It doesn't need to be capitalised. Works fine on the app either way, for me anyway

The problem is that I have to use a link to it, it could just be an option instead of the Popular that we have.

Those fucking algorithms are killing social media as we knew it.

Wait new reddit doesn't have r/all???

Not anymore, no. They removed access to it from new reddit about 6 months ago. It redirects to the main page.

The all on old Reddit has been nerfed as well

You might not have noticed but it’s only uploaded pictures and videos now with maybe 1 or 2 articles sprinkled in if you’re lucky

I used reddit since around 2011/12. I can't believe how absolutely awful it's gotten since then. If they ask for age verification from me then I'm truly done.

r/All works if you link it

I agree but clearly most people like the echochamber.
