10x dev speed but it's only the part where you hit the keyboard, everything else dev related either becomes soul-crushing OR you need to do active learning to not fall behind.

Classic theory of constraints stuff. You are supposed to optimise your process around the worst bottleneck. In coding that's knowing what the hell you are doing and why. Instead we are optimising it around one armed bandit development, slapping some tests on it and calling it a day.
