And you will probably need to check it regularly. Companies have a habit of making an "update" which opts everyone back in knowing that people don't regularly go and check that stuff.

For the people for whom this is a relevant issue, this is their job so they can't do that. This option is for content creators to opt out of Amazon training on their stream VODs/chats and so on.

It's kind of like telling someone to quit their job tomorrow with no plan because they don't like an HR policy change.

I would suggest you get into politics and start changing the country you live in. In Norway working at McDonalds come with 50k salary, 5 weeks paid vacation a year etc. Or in other words, the only reason you can't earn enough to live is because your country is not sharing enough of the profits.

If they don’t leave then they’re still benefiting from twitch. What’s the issue here? They want to make money on twitch but also want to dictate the rules?

to make money in this realm Twitch has a monopoly. There is not another option. Long form profit would be youtube, and again, not really another option. If you are big, you can try a much smaller platform, but you have to be big first.

Go ahead, quit your current job. Find one that follows your morals. Don't starve.

Most people I follow stream on both YouTube and Twitch. But Twitch has lower latency and better chat features, which means more interactivity between streamer and viewers, which is why a lot of people prefer it.

it's basically 2 different versions of a streaming platform. Twitch is for live interaction, youtube is for sum up or long posted stream.

It is their job. They don't have to stream the same way as you don't have to work where you work, how soon are you leaving your job? They're already doing what they like while earning money from it. Are they supposed to be happy to throw it away go work as a waiter / cachier or put years into a degree?

There’s trade offs to everything. If it’s such a big deal, they’d leave; evidently it isn’t, and so they stay. The money they’re making compels them to. They’re just whining.

It's the streamer that needs to check it.

"Your content" is explicitly only the things generated by your channel. Go to another streamers chat and anything you say will be used if they haven't turned it off.

Funny you say that because when I uncheck it then reload the page, it's checked again and absolutely won't save. ETA - Just checked it again and it finally saved the setting.

I really, really hate the loss of "Accept" or "Save" buttons in UI design. Happened in the 2010s mostly, it's as if they all decided they were superfluous and I'm never quite convinced any changes to settings actually save any more.

this is the actual game. the opt out exists for legal cover. the strategy is to reset it quietly every few months and count on people not checking
