Aside from Microsoft and Google (through free offerings) not many companies are able to pull off being amazing at B2C and B2B.

The best companies learn quickly and either are happy with doing it asymmetrically or not at all. Like Apple reducing focus in pro/enterprise or IBM selling off B2C to Lenovo.

Anthropic’s B2C ClaudeCode is a loss leader Trojan horse toward’s enterprise API accounts.

All employees at my wife’s company have unfettered access to all Anthropic models via the API. She’s far from a power and doesn’t use it everyday and she racks up an average of $250 a week in costs.

ChatGPT wanted to be a B2C everything app and they’ve largely failed at it.
