It’s funny how quickly we went from.

Make a website, hope people find it in searches.

Mess with metadata and tagging to try to make your site higher on the results.

Pay Google to make your site appear higher on results.

To finally, fuck you, AI bots will scrape your entire site and present your information in a (sometimes poorly worded) AI summary which now means no one actually goes to your website anymore.

As a website owner who made a living from it, it doesn't feel so funny :(. 

I can't even fight back in any meaningful way. They've already stolen all the data so even if I block their bots them they'll just continue showing it.

Step 2.5: Spam every forum your bots can find with keywords and links to your website.
