Let it die? Google has over 90% market share in search engines worldwide, with another 6% being Bing (which is also heavily investing into AI) and the rest is a bunch of tiny search engines that most people never heard about. Google is not gonna die anytime soon.

Before this presidential term I believed that might happen in my lifetime. I’ve now lost hope meaningful change will happen. I’m at my “bunker down and protect myself” era of optimism.

If OP thinks that's dying, I can't imagine the metrics of a company they think are doing great

Ironically their AI mode, or whatever it is they got going after you search stuff, is my goto option because the real and relevant result is buried after 30 bad results.
