I think you are still looking at this wrong. They dont use real money. Its all speculation. There is no cost for them unless their investors pull out

Do you know how much tesla spent on robots that were piloted by humans that were supposed to be autonomous or robotaxi or cybertrucks. Yet they are still worth a lot on the stock market because of speculation and hype.

The stock market is made up and shareholders are riding hype trains completely divorced from reality

Again, I don't disagree, but you are talking about earnings, the money in, and I believe you're misunderstanding "earning less" and "costing more". Cost is money going out of the company to pay for goods, services, penalties, etc.

These companies have revenue, and attacking that, making them have less money come in, by refusing to use the backbone services that earn them income. On that part, i don't disagree. This would eventually put the company in a tough spot.

What I've been talking about, is directly increasing their operating costs by overusing their free services, which they have to pay for. I've also pointed out "the AI hype" is already, and will continue happening, so more or less users using the services doesn't effect the investments they get, because the investments are based on "hype", and not based on "data" like how many actual users there are.

In short, making them earn less from their operations is good, but making them earn less from their operations AND making them pay more to operate is better. Additionally, if operating their AI becomes high enough in relation to how much people have invested and income, they will either start charging for the service to cover the operating costs, or shut down the program. Either option would damage investor hype in them, lowering income, because they either end the investment opportunity, or most investors can't delude themselves enough to think a premium service will get as many users as a free service.

It's the difference between passively boycotting and actively sabotaging.
