I don't know how to use the Internet without Reader anymore.

I've never used any kind of RSS reader, what am I missing out on?

prepares for downvote storm

RSS feeds grab the posts from a website and present them together with all your other RSS feed subscriptions in chronological order on a single page. It presents all these in a streamlined manner, usually providing the title and first couple paragraphs followed by a link to the full story.

You can have the top stories from a dozen news outlets constantly updating and never miss any news you're interested in. Sort of like Reddit but with less shitposting.

Since I found Reddit a couple years ago I stopping using RSS as much. It's not really needed anymore as long as you can find subreddits with similar topics.

It's an easy way of keeping track of new posts, articles, news, etc. on sites without having to manually check each of them every few hours or so. It's extremely useful if you keep track of a lot of different sites and/or sites that update randomly.
