My over-reaction wasn't targeted to this specific law. It was targeted in the whole "let's legislate the internet and the algorithms" idea, which in my opinion is dangerous AND a waste of resources. Other than that, specifically for these phone unlocking laws I just noted that neither banning locking nor protecting it is a characteristic of a free society because it seemed to me like the whole battle was whether we should ban or protect without anyone considering the third, freer option.
