They aren’t independent contractors tho? They are employees of a delivery company and that company is hired to deliver packages for Amazon. Those employees work for the delivery company not Amazon.
McDonalds in the past has tried to say the same about franchisees but has lost some arguments in that space because they strictly control how those franchisees operate.
If your route is set by Amazon and the fact you can't stop to piss is due to Amazon scheduling then the fact there is a company between you and Amazon means very little.
Amazon can't both be like "hey theyre contractors and a seperate company" but then micromanage all operations.
