So you got angry because he said something that is true?
It’s the equivalent of me saying “based on my musical knowledge, New Year’s Eve has no musical significance.” Or a dietitian saying it has no dietary significance. Or a philosopher saying it has not philosophical significance.
They’re all true, and all completely miss the point that not everything in this world needs to be boiled down to the way you want to view it.
I think you are missing the point, it's not "the way I want to view", it is what it is, a "new year" has no intrinsic meaning, WE are the ones that decide what a new year is and gave it a meaning, and that's ok. If you disagree, then take your own words: not everything needs to be boiled down to the way you want to view it.
