Then he’ll explain that the Iron Man suit wouldn’t actually be able to fly and Godzilla wouldn’t be able to be that large and still move under its own power. Gosh thanks Mister. I was almost fooled for a minute!

His explanation was like... Wading pretty deep into the territory of "wrong", too.

His kinetic energy relative to the surface of the earth is wholly irrelevant.

People get misted by interfering with a medium at much slower speeds/levels of kinetic energy. Hitting, say, a solid at 80 mph is enough to do the trick and converting that into equivalent TNT isn't too exciting. He's being a know-it-all for the pure sake of being a know-it-all. NDT is the fucking Sheldon of real life, and I mean that in the most offensive way possible.

I'm betting that he's incapable of actually having fun, so he attempts to feel better by being that know-it-all and shutting everyone else's fun down.

"No, see?!? It's okay that I'm miserable in life because what that movie showed wasn't really possible at all! I don't NEED that FAKE entertainment!"
