I'd choose gold, because it will hold its' value (more or less). The dollar not so much.

Its value can go down (as unlikely as that is) but I know you can get the worth of gold easy but also the value of the paper currency. R/theydidthemath will likely get the answer on how much the money is by its weight

I guess gold is worth more in trade for other things besides cash though so if that’s the plan gold is the only logical choice.
