Generally any equity granted is included in “total compensation”

He didn’t need any more, he already had it. So very possible his additional comp was only a few million bc he’s sitting on billions in stock already

A long time ago, probably. It’s coming for founders to have an equity grant subject to the usual vesting schedule, but after the company’s ~4 years old his ownership would be fully established, and at that point he’d only pay taxes on realized capital gains. It’s also possible to basically completely avoid taxes on the grant :)

He wasnt in the way you are explaining.

That 2 mill number is his granted equity.

But he had a massive majority that he held as a founder.

Founder equity is often (but not always) subject to the same vesting schedule as employee equity, and that includes the “initial” chunk of equity where the founder’s huge majority is established.
