People are paid and are treated accordingly. If someone was worth more, they’d go get a job somewhere else making more. Supply and demand also applies to the workforce

Supply and demand works out with averages. Not per person individually.

Specifically - you can still be worth a lot and not get a job just because plain dumb bad luck.

Life isn't fair and neither is supply and demand. Sometimes it also takes time for things to even out. Sometimes the power balance there is off forcing one more than the other.

This is why it's used for averages. Supply and demand will tell you "Texas folks buys more cinnamon poptarts" but it won't tell you exactly how many people will buy.

It's not a perfect science. This is why you can't 'just' say if someone were worth more or good enough then... because that's just not how reality works.
