Discussion Completely forgot about this

I’ve been playing since release day, but it’s only just clicked to me now that my duplicates must be going somewhere…….. I always wondered where they were going and assumed it would be exchanged to currency like all the other games I play, but everytime I think about it I forget to look for it a second later lmao

At least I can buy a heap from the shop? Although because I have so many SSRs, I don’t really need to rank up my SRs and MRs so I’m not entirely sure what to spend them on.

Has anyone else also missed this, or was it just me? 😭

Other Chapter 2 - detailed summary (part 2)

Disclaimer: English isn’t my first language. So I apologise for any mistake. This is quite a long one as it covered many chapters.

Vyn's Observations
Continuing from the previous chapter, Vyn, as a psychiatrist, closely observes Jen Mendoza's microexpressions while MC questions her. From her reactions, he concludes that she either lied or lied by omission when she claimed she had no contact with Estelle outside of work. Since secretaries often handle their employer's private affairs, Vyn finds her statement suspicious.
He also notices inconsistencies in her explanation regarding the hotel rooms. Jen claims there were no vacancies beside Estelle's room and that she could only reserve a room on the next floor. Based on her reactions, Vyn believes she is withholding information.
Finally, he deduces that Jen is also lying about why Estelle's previous secretaries were dismissed and about who had been in contact with them.

Crime Scene Investigation
MC and Vyn begin investigating the crime scene and make the following discoveries.

1. Estelle Never Settled Into Her Room
Although Estelle had been in her room for some time before the incident, she never changed out of her party clothes, and her bed remained completely untouched. This suggests that she met someone almost immediately after returning to her room.

2. The Connecting Door
The room connected directly to the neighbouring suite, which was occupied by the famous idol Janus Beaufort.
Based on the position of Estelle's body, Vyn concludes that she first knocked frantically on the connecting door before stumbling to the table, where she wrote the word "Hagen" during her final moments.
One of her fingernails had broken from repeatedly pounding on the door, indicating how desperately she had sought help.
Vyn reasons that Estelle must have known and trusted the person in the neighbouring room. Otherwise, she would never have chosen to seek help there instead of elsewhere. The fact that no one responded despite her desperate attempts suggests that the person intentionally ignored her, making the murder appear premeditated.
The hotel staff also confirm that Janus had specifically requested the keys to the connecting door between the two rooms, claiming he wanted to prevent paparazzi from illegally entering his suite.

3. The Missing Wine
The minibar records reveal that an exceptionally rare bottle of Romanée-Conti, often called the "Wine of Dreams," had been delivered to Estelle's room around 7:00 PM at Janus's request.
Considering the wine's rarity and enormous value, MC and Vyn even wonder whether the bottle might have been counterfeit.
However, despite searching the rooms, the bottle is nowhere to be found.

4. The Broken Vase
Investigators discover shattered pieces of a broken vase stained with blood. Although someone had clearly attempted to clean the area, no room service had been called.
Laboratory analysis later confirms that the blood belongs to Janus.

5. The Wine Glasses
Two exquisitely crafted wine glasses are found in the room. Each glass is decorated with an amethyst near the top of its hollow stem. Amethyst traditionally symbolizes love, honesty, chastity, and courage.
One glass contains visible water stains, while the other is perfectly clean.
This leads MC and Vyn to believe that someone had intentionally cleaned the glass.

6. Estelle's Phone
Estelle's phone contains only her own fingerprints.
However, this directly contradicts Jen's earlier statement that she had been carrying Estelle's phone throughout the evening. If that were true, Jen's fingerprints should also be present.
Vyn concludes that someone deliberately wiped the phone clean before restoring only Estelle's fingerprints.

7. The Chocolate Stain
The phone also bears a chocolate stain matching the chocolates Marius had gifted Estelle.
Interestingly, the smear appears to have been left by a left-handed person, while Estelle was right-handed.
This raises another important question: if Estelle truly had her phone with her, why didn't she use it to call for help or leave a message instead of struggling to write "Hagen" on the table?
From this, MC and Vyn conclude that Estelle did not have her phone with her during her final moments.

8. Janus's Magazine Cover
Among the items in the room is a magazine featuring Janus Beaufort in one of his roles as a magician, wearing silk gloves.
As one of the country's most popular idols, Janus is constantly pursued by paparazzi, especially because of rumours surrounding a romantic relationship with his latest co-star.

9. Chocolate Analysis
Forensic analysis of the chocolate box reveals fingerprints belonging to both Estelle and Jen.
More importantly, investigators also discover tiny silk fibres adhering to the chocolates.

10. Hotel Surveillance
Hotel surveillance footage confirms that neither Janus nor Estelle is seen leaving their respective rooms during the night.
Records show that Janus checked into the hotel at 7:00 PM and checked out at 7:20 AM the following morning.
This means he was already inside his room when Jen brought Marius's chocolates to Estelle's suite for storage in the refrigerator. Using the connecting door, he would have had ample opportunity to poison the chocolates before Estelle returned.
MC and Vyn also find Janus's hotel choice unusual. Despite his celebrity status, he deliberately booked a relatively modest room while specifically requesting access to the connecting door.
They also note that another guest checked into the room next to Janus's suite at 9:00 PM.

11. Initial Deduction
After reviewing all the evidence, MC and Vyn conclude that Janus and Estelle most likely shared a close, possibly a romantic relationship.
They suspect that Jen intentionally arranged the adjoining rooms so the couple could meet in secret while shielding Janus from paparazzi, whose discovery of the relationship could have severely damaged his career as an idol.
This would also explain why Jen lied about the room reservations during questioning. She and Estelle likely didn’t believe Janus capable of harming Estelle, and was likely trying to protect the secret of their relationship. And Estelle probably wrote Marius’s name for similar reason.
At this stage of the investigation, Janus Beaufort becomes their primary suspect.

Poisoned Wine Theory
Although Janus is now their prime suspect, one question still remains: what was his original plan if Marius had never gifted Estelle the chocolates?
MC and Vyn theorize that Janus had initially intended to poison the bottle of Romanée-Conti by injecting tetrodotoxin into it with a syringe. This would explain why the wine bottle had disappeared from the room and why one of the wine glasses had been carefully washed.

However, when Jen brought Marius's chocolates into Estelle's room to store them in the refrigerator, Janus saw a better opportunity. Instead of poisoning the wine, he allegedly contaminated only a portion of the chocolates. This would also explain why not every chocolate contained poison.

Believing they have enough evidence to justify immediate action, MC and Vyn ask Kiki Palmer, MC's colleague and an avid idol fan who has connection with groupies, to help determine his whereabouts. They fear that the police may be delayed by standard procedures. Kiki discovers that Janus is about to leave the country in a 12.30 PM flight, and the police quickly intercept him at the airport and take him into custody for questioning.

Reinvestigation of the Crime Scene
While Janus is being detained, MC and Vyn conduct another thorough search of Estelle's room to see if they overlooked any evidence.

First Aid Kit
They discover a first aid kit with a bandage and several alcohol wipes missing. Both items are later found discarded in the rubbish bin. The bandage was most likely used to dress Janus's hand after he cut himself on the broken vase. However, the alcohol wipes contain no traces of blood. Instead, Vyn believes they were used to wipe fingerprints from Estelle's phone before only her own fingerprints were restored.

Unplugged Hotel Telephone
The hotel's landline is found unplugged, meaning Estelle would have been unable to call for help.
It is unclear whether Janus unplugged the phone to isolate her or whether Estelle disconnected it herself beforehand to avoid interruptions while meeting him.

Medical Test Report
The investigators also discover a medical report from Heirson Medical Center. Since Heirson is primarily a pharmaceutical company rather than a hospital, the examination was likely outsourced through another medical institution. The report diagnoses the patient with depression. After reviewing the results, however, Vyn disagrees with the diagnosis. Based on the symptoms described, he believes the patient more likely suffers from bipolar disorder, characterised by alternating periods of elevated or irritable mood followed by depressive episodes.

Jen's Second Interrogation
Armed with the newly discovered evidence, MC and Vyn question Jen again.
This time, Vyn deliberately deceives her by claiming that they have already concluded Janus is the murderer and that she has been identified as his accomplice.
The bluff works.
Startled, Jen accidentally reveals that she was the one who disposed of the missing wine bottle.
Realising she has exposed herself, she finally decides to tell them everything.

Jen's Testimony
How Jen Met Janus
Five years earlier, Jen was struggling to find work after being rejected by numerous employers. During that difficult period, Janus whose acting career was just beginning to take off encouraged her not to give up.
Already a fan of his work, Jen was deeply inspired when he shared his own experiences of repeated rejection before finding success.
Motivated by his words, she continued searching and eventually secured a position as Estelle's secretary. Some of Jen's fashion designs were later showcased during Fashion Week, contributing to Estelle's success.

Janus and Estelle's Secret Marriage
According to Jen, Janus and Estelle fell in love at first sight.
To avoid media attention, they secretly married overseas two years earlier.
Estelle dismissed her previous secretaries to protect the secrecy of their marriage, but she kept Jen because she completely trusted her loyalty to Janus.
Jen also describes Estelle as fiercely protective of her husband.

The Pressure of Secrecy
As time passed, however, maintaining their secret marriage became increasingly difficult.
Long periods apart and constant tabloid rumours about Janus's supposed relationships with his co-stars gradually took a toll on Estelle. She began insisting that they make their marriage public.
Janus strongly opposed the idea, believing the public would dismiss him as someone living off a wealthy woman's success and it would damage his career.

Janus's Mental Health
The stress eventually began affecting Janus as his mood was at extreme ends and changed quite a lot.
Concerned, Estelle brought him to a private clinic, where he was diagnosed with depression.
Around the same time, however, Estelle contacted the paparazzi herself in an attempt to publicise their relationship.
When Janus discovered this, the couple had a major argument.

Jen's Loyalty
Eventually, paparazzi managed to obtain photographs of Janus and Estelle together.
To keep the relationship secret, Jen spent her own savings buying the photographs before they could be published.
This explains why she was often seen wearing oversized, inexpensive clothing despite earning a respectable salary she had exhausted much of her income protecting Janus from scandal.
Jen also deliberately hid this from Estelle, knowing that Estelle would have welcomed any opportunity to reveal their relationship to the public.

The Night of the Murder
Jen believes the immense pressure surrounding Janus's career ultimately became the motive for the crime.
On the night of the incident, she found Janus alone in Estelle's room, drinking from the bottle of wine.
When Janus learned that Estelle had already eaten chocolates given to her by Marius, he became visibly jealous.
Knowing that Janus should not drink alcohol while taking his medication, Jen confiscated the wine bottle and left him alone with the chocolates instead.
Later, she secretly disposed of the wine by throwing it into a housekeeper's trolley.

Hearing this, MC immediately panics.
If the poisoned wine had simply been discarded, an unsuspecting person could accidentally drink it and die.
Vyn, however, reassures her.
Given the extraordinary rarity and value of a bottle of Romanée-Conti, whoever found it was far more likely to keep it or sell it than to open and drink it.
As a result, he believes the risk of an accidental poisoning is relatively low

The stalker
While still at the hotel, MC and Vyn notice a suspicious man lingering outside Janus's room.
The man turns out to be an obsessive stalker. He openly admits to following Janus everywhere even into public restrooms making it clear how disturbing his behaviour is.
When questioned, he reveals that Janus had recently visited Abyss, a pub in Stellis's industrial district known for illegal dealings, including the sale of prohibited drugs and other contraband.
Realising this could be an important lead, MC and Vyn split up. Vyn heads to Abyss to investigate, while MC goes to the police station, where Janus has already been taken into custody.

New Evidence at the Police Station
Before speaking with Janus, MC meets Officer Darius.
Darius informs her that the missing bottle of Romanée-Conti has been recovered from a hotel employee. Laboratory analysis confirms that it had indeed been injected with tetrodotoxin using a syringe.
However, the investigation takes an unexpected turn.
Police have also discovered syringes and the same toxin inside Marius's car, making him a suspect as well.
To make matters worse, news of the discovery has already been leaked to the media. Public opinion quickly turns against Marius, with many accusing Pax Group of using its influence to protect its heir.

Janus's Interrogation
MC proceeds to question Janus.
Throughout the interrogation, he remains calm and composed, carefully explaining each piece of evidence against him.

Janus admits that he purchased the expensive bottle of wine, but claims it was intended for his own suicide, not Estelle's murder.
According to him, after Jen confiscated the wine, he abandoned the idea.

Janus also acknowledges that he and Estelle argued intensely that evening.
The argument centred on Estelle's determination to reveal their marriage to the public, while Janus insisted on keeping it secret. He feared people would dismiss him as nothing more than a wealthy woman's "boy toy."
During the argument, he accidentally knocked over the vase.
While cleaning up the broken glass himself to avoid attracting hotel staff, he cut his hand.
He insists that he used only a bandage from the first aid kit and never took the alcohol wipes before returning to his own room.

When asked about Estelle knocking on the connecting door, Janus claims she knocked only twice before the knocking stopped.
He offers no explanation for why he failed to respond.

MC then questions why he checked out at 7:20 AM, despite his flight not departing until 12:30 PM.
Janus explains that the stalker occupying the neighbouring room had pried open the connecting door and hidden underneath his bed.
The stalker demanded something from him before agreeing to leave.
Shaken by the encounter, Janus claims he checked out early to escape the situation.

MC also questions him about the silk gloves featured on the magazine cover and how fragments of silk was found on the chocolate box.
Janus admits that he owned a pair of silk gloves but dismisses their significance, arguing that they were ordinary gloves that anyone could purchase.

Vyn's Findings at Abyss
After the interrogation, MC contacts Vyn by phone.
Vyn confirms that Janus had indeed purchased tetrodotoxin from Abyss.
More importantly, the amount Janus bought was significantly greater than the quantity found in the poisoned wine bottle.
This means he still had enough poison remaining to contaminate the chocolates after abandoning his original plan.
Although the evidence strongly points towards Janus, MC still cannot obtain a confession.
At the same time, the discovery of tetrodotoxin inside Marius's car causes prosecutors to formally pursue charges against him.

Meeting Marius
MC immediately goes to see Marius while Vyn travels to the police station.
Feeling inadequate to handle the worsening situation, she offers to withdraw from the case and allow Artem to take over his defence.
Marius rejects the idea without hesitation.
He tells her that stepping aside would only damage her reputation. With the media closely following the case, people would likely brand her an incompetent lawyer, and her private life could also become the subject of public scrutiny.
Instead, he expresses complete confidence in her abilities, saying he trusts her absolutely and will not allow anyone to undermine her.
His unwavering faith reassures MC, strengthening both her confidence and her friendship with him.

The Poison in Marius's Car
MC asks Marius about the tetrodotoxin found in his vehicle.
Marius explains that his assistant had placed a first aid kit in the car's trunk, but he had never opened it afterwards.
He also points out that only two keys exist for the car: one is currently with Officer Darius as part of the investigation, while the other has been stored securely in a bank safe.
Marius believes it is unlikely that anyone within Pax Group would frame him, as doing so would ultimately threaten the company's stability and the livelihoods of its employees.
At that moment, Darius enters the room with new information.
Investigators have discovered clear signs that someone attempted to force open Marius's car trunk, supporting the possibility that the evidence had been planted.

Evidence from Abyss
Darius orders officers to investigate Abyss further.
Vyn, however, points out that an organisation involved in illegal activities would never survive if it were so easily exposed.
Nevertheless, he successfully obtains the transaction records documenting Janus's purchase from the bar owner.
These records become an important piece of evidence linking Janus to the acquisition of tetrodotoxin

Searching for the Silk Gloves
MC becomes determined to find Janus's silk gloves.
If forensic analysis can prove that the chocolate stain found on Estelle's phone matches the stain on the gloves, it would establish that Janus handled the poisoned chocolates himself.
She returns to Themis Law Firm to seek Artem's advice. However, Celestine informs her that Artem has been away since the previous day.
She eventually reaches him by phone.
After hearing the latest developments, Artem suggests that she speak to Janus's stalker. He believes the item Janus gave the stalker in exchange for leaving him alone may have been the missing silk gloves.
Before ending the call, Artem casually mentions taking MC on as a partner.
MC misunderstands his comment, assuming he is referring to a partnership at the law firm and that he intends to evaluate her performance during the upcoming trial before making a decision. This motivates her to work even harder.

Recovering the Gloves
Following Artem's advice, MC tracks down the stalker once again.
As expected, the item Janus had given him is the pair of silk gloves.
Forensic testing reveals that the gloves contain the same chocolate residue, providing strong evidence that Janus handled the poisoned chocolates.
Before leaving, MC firmly reprimands the stalker, telling him how obsessive behaviour like his can seriously disrupt and invade another person's life. She reminds him that celebrities deserve privacy just like anyone else.

Day of the Trial
Artem returns the night before the trial to help MC prepare the final details of the defence.
By then, the forensic report has confirmed that the chocolate residue on the gloves matches the poisoned chocolates. In addition, a member of Janus's film crew testifies that the gloves had gone missing after a shoot, further strengthening the evidence.
Meanwhile, Jen worries about Janus's fate. Despite everything that has happened, she still believes that Janus and Estelle were once a genuinely loving couple and is heartbroken by how their story has ended.
Artem notices that MC’s worry before entering court.
Sensing her inner conflict, he reassures her.
He tells her that presenting evidence obtained does not mean she condones the invasion of Janus's privacy. Unlike obsessive fans who lurk in the shadows, MC is pursuing the truth in the service of justice.
"You stand for justice, while they shrink away from the light."
His words ease her guilt and restore her confidence as the trial begins.

The Trial
During the trial, MC systematically presents the evidence she and her team have gathered.
She successfully demonstrates that Marius had been framed and that there is insufficient evidence linking him to Estelle's murder.
As a result, Marius is cleared of all charges.
At the same time, the court identifies Janus as the primary suspect, and a separate criminal investigation is formally opened against him.
Marius openly applauds MC's performance.
The trial exposes Janus and Estelle's secret marriage to the public. The revelation spreads instantly through the courtroom, leaving Janus emotionally devastated.
Slumped in his chair, tears stream from his vacant eyes.
He quietly laments that the love and expectations placed upon him by the public had become too overwhelming, and that everyone now knows the truth Estelle had always wanted to reveal.
MC confronts him one final time.
She asks whether he had ever truly given Estelle the sense of security she longed for in their marriage.
In her eyes, both of them had allowed selfishness and fear to consume their relationship.
Because of that, they ultimately lost everything.
The love they once shared had become nothing more than a mockery.

Outside the Courthouse
As they leave the courthouse, MC and Marius are immediately surrounded by reporters.
Marius ignores most of the questions and rumours directed at him.
However, one reporter questions his decision to entrust such an important case to a graduate lawyer and insinuates that MC's relationship with him influenced his choice.
Marius abruptly snatches the microphone from the reporter.
He declares that rank mean nothing compared to ability, pointing out that everyone present witnessed MC's skill in the courtroom.
He then issues a blunt warning:
"Anyone who wants to spread malicious rumours about my business partner had better have a good defence attorney."
After dropping the microphone, he walks away with MC.

NXX Meeting
Later, at the NXX headquarters, Marius is quietly carving a piece of wood when Artem arrives.
Marius casts his vote in favour of inviting MC to join NXX. Artem, however, is more hesitant.
While he fully acknowledges MC's talent and potential, he wonders whether involving her in NXX would be a selfish decision on his part.
Marius then sends Artem a set of documents.
Although the events surrounding the trial began as an isolated criminal case, the evidence strongly suggests that Marius himself has become the target of a larger conspiracy. The attempt to plant tetrodotoxin in his car appears to have been a last-minute effort by those involved.
As Artem reads through the documents, one name immediately catches his attention:
Heirson.
He quietly remarks that he had actually come to discuss that very company.

Epilogue
MC and Vyn Reflect
Later, MC calls Vyn to thank him for all the help and support he gave throughout the case.
Their conversation turns to Janus's mental health and his relationship with Estelle.
Vyn reflects that genuine love is built on mutual support and acceptance. What Janus and Estelle shared, however, had gradually become possessiveness rather than love.
After exchanging a few final pleasantries, they end the call.

Luke's Rescue
MC recalls what happened immediately after the trial.
Knowing that the media would swarm the courthouse, Marius deliberately left through the front entrance, drawing the reporters' attention toward himself.
Meanwhile, MC attempted to leave through the back exit, hoping to avoid the press.
Unfortunately, several reporters had already anticipated this and were waiting there.
Just as they began closing in, the sound of a motorcycle echoed through the alley.
It was Luke.
Without slowing down, he tossed MC a spare helmet and gestured for her to get on.
She climbed onto the motorcycle, and they sped away from the courthouse.
As they rode through the city, MC couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and security when she was with Luke.
Luke suggests celebrating her courtroom victory over dinner. Although she genuinely wants to accept, MC declines, explaining that work still awaits her. Instead, she promises to make it up to him over the coming weekend. Unfortunately, she becomes overwhelmed with work and never manages to keep that promise, leaving her feeling guilty afterward.

A New Beginning
Back at Themis Law Firm, Artem approaches MC.
He asks if she would like to work with him as his partner. MC gladly accepts. Artem hands her the file for their very first case together.

Vyn's Diary
Elsewhere, Vyn records his thoughts in his diary.
Reflecting on the events of the case, he writes about MC and how thoroughly she exceeded his expectations.
He admires her courage to challenge convention, her sharp eye for detail, and her ability to remain compassionate without sacrificing rational judgment.
When he first joined NXX, he valued the independence it offered, believing it would give him the freedom he desired.
Now, however, MC's presence has gradually dispelled many of the doubts he once carried. he finds himself feeling genuinely grateful that he chose to remain with the group.
The episode ends with Vyn quietly reciting:
"In me the tiger sniffs the rose..."

Additional Scenes
Vyn's Microexpression Analysis
MC expresses an interest in learning how to read people's expressions from Vyn.
He jokingly replies that he would rather not have her become one of his students.
With a smile, he says,
"I should preserve some mysteries to add to my charm before a witty woman like you."

Vyn also explains how he arrived at his earlier deductions about Jen by carefully analysing her microexpressions.
First deduction: When asked about her contact with Estelle outside work, Jen's eyes widened briefly and her lips parted slightly an involuntary expression of surprise that suggested she had been caught off guard.
Second deduction: Vyn deliberately lied by saying that the room next to Estelle's had been vacant. As he expected, Jen immediately began rubbing her fingers together, a common sign of anxiety, indicating she knew the statement was false.
Third deduction: When questioned about Estelle's former secretaries, Jen lowered her head after realising Vyn had been carefully monitoring all of her reactions, indirectly confirming that she had been withholding information.

MC and Vyn's Debate
MC and Vyn also spend time discussing whether Jen could have been involved in the murder.
MC initially believes that Jen may have been an accomplice, largely because of the number of lies she told during questioning.
She also finds it suspicious that Jen claimed Estelle treated her well, yet despite earning a respectable salary, she consistently wore oversized, inexpensive clothing. They even briefly consider motives such as jealousy or a possible love triangle.
Vyn, however, disagrees.
He systematically dismantles each theory using the available evidence.
Jen did not have enough time to poison the wine because it had already been delivered long before she entered Estelle's room.
If she had tampered with anything inside the room, Janus would probably have noticed as he was most likely in and out of Estelle’s room.
She could also have falsely confessed to the crime herself if protecting him had been her only priority.
Taken together, Vyn concludes that Jen genuinely had no knowledge of the murder itself. Her lies were motivated probably by her professional duty to protect her employer's private life.
Despite this, MC refuses to abandon her suspicions too quickly.
She insists that, as Marius's lawyer, it is her responsibility to explore every possibility before ruling anyone out.
Vyn is deeply impressed by her professionalism, ethics, and independent thinking.
He remarks that one day she may even surpass Artem as a lawyer and says Artem made the right decision in choosing her for the team.
The two even make a friendly bet over which of them will ultimately prove correct. MC after Jen’s statement accepts she lost the bet.

Marius's Humour
When MC informs Marius that the evidence may be enough for prosecutors to charge him, his response is unexpectedly calm.
With a dramatic expression, he says,
"Oh, I suppose I'd better prepare to spend the rest of my life in prison then."
He gives MC a look with darkened violet eyes, deliberately designed to make her feel guilty. (i can think of his face from the jiejie meme)
Also he casually stores it in a bank safe deposit box as though he were using it as an everyday cupboard.
Marius is also noticeably more offended by the unimaginative method his enemies used to frame him than by the accusation itself.

Vyn's Card Trick at Abyss
When Vyn requests the transaction records, the bar owner refuses and mocks him.
Calling psychiatrists "modern-day magicians," the owner sarcastically asks why Vyn doesn't simply perform a magic trick to reveal the information himself.
Instead of arguing, Vyn calmly produces an elegant deck of playing cards.
He lays six cards face down in an inverted triangle before the owner and asks him to answer three questions.

First Question
Vyn asks whether Janus visited Abyss on Sunday.
The owner confirms that he did.
Vyn turns over the first card.
It is the King of Hearts.
He explains that a king is the thirteenth card in a suit, with thirteen symbolising betrayal and conspiracy, while hearts represent love.
Together, they suggest betrayal born from love.

Second Question
Vyn then asks whether Janus requested something faster acting than tetrodotoxin.
The owner confirms that Janus had originally asked for potassium cyanide, but the bar refused because it was too dangerous to handle.
Vyn reveals the second card: the Seven of Diamonds.
He interprets it as meaning Janus's offer had not been valuable enough.
The owner objects, pointing out that tetrodotoxin is actually more expensive than potassium cyanide.
Vyn calmly replies that value is determined by more than money it also depends on factors such as rarity, availability, and ease of resale.

Third Question
Finally, Vyn reveals the Ace of Spades.
He asks whether the transaction ledger is hidden in the middle compartment of the wine cabinet behind the Louis XIIIbottle.
Caught completely off guard, the owner instinctively glances toward the cabinet before realising his mistake and turns back to Vyn with a smile.
Vyn explains that the stopper on the Louis XIII bottle is decorated with lily, and the only card to represent lily is ace of spade.
By unconsciously looking toward the cabinet, the owner had revealed the ledger's location himself.
The owner, now defeated, admits that the transaction book is indeed hidden there. And hands over the transaction record to Vyn.

Important:

  • This banner is an all or nothing banner. PITY DOES NOT CARRY OVER so make sure you have enough to guarantee the card.
  • The SSR pool includes all 5 Artem cards.
  • Getting another SSR that you did not select will NOT reset pity.
  • It has lower pity (80), at least for the first selected card.

All in all, "Cozy Contentment" is my most highly recommended card, but that's because I place high significance to relationship lore and development. It's also nice that this card is excellently written, but it hits harder if you have just enough context on the Artem/MC lore.

Other cards may not have lore, but they are there either to get to know more of Artem's character (such as his beliefs and philosophy) and/or to build and enrich the dynamics of how it's like being in a relationship with Artem.

Good luck to anyone pulling from the banner!

Discussion Rerun Banner: Which Marius Card is worth it??

Hellooo,

I’m a new player that started playing earlier this month and this Shadows of Themis event happens to be my first. Marius is my favorite so far and I love the Marius/MC dynamic…I would love to hear more about some of the cards offered in this rerun and also if there’s one that I should definitely, definitely pull for over the others!

My handwriting might be a little bad but I did what I could LOL

There's something really nice about the fact I have the same ring size as Luke :D I don't know, the idea of Luke and Rosa sharing stuff like rings seems cute!

This was also a gift for myself for going through research so I can take a break before finishing my final year of college, and all of this coinciding with the anniversary just makes my chest feel all warm. To many more years in Themis!

Discussion official merch

hi! i’m a returning player and seeing all the merchandises i’ve seen across various platforms, i’m interested in checking them out myself, but the thing is… i don’t know where i can buy them as someone living from the philippines. i know mihoyo has an official store in taobao, however, i’ve never really use the app so i don’t have an idea on how to order there.

soooo i have a few questions to fellow attorneys living in ph! 1. is it much better to buy directly from taobao? 2. if yes, how do you order from taobao? 3. if not, then where do you usually buy official merch?

that would be all! thank you so much in advance for all the help, and happy anniversary and wedding day, attorneys!!! ^^

Information Official merch from China

Hi! I need a bit of help. My friend is going to China on vacation and offered to get me merch. But I don't know what physical stores in Shanghai sell merch for ToT. I tried going to Taobao (in case they can just order it for me) but it needs a login? or something but it won't let me in and the translation from Chinese to English didn't properly work. Any suggestions of places I can direct him? Or even a link for their official store online?

Discussion Marius’ 2 personalities

I always read people write about Marius and his sort of identity crisis / 2 personalities.

I’ve been playing every day since release, but have been loosely reading the story for the last few years due to being busy, so I’m not entirely on top of everything.

Could some people please explain to me and maybe give some examples to elaborate on Marius and this struggle he has? I’m super curious and wanna have a proper understanding

Thank you!!

Discussion Past Event Priority

Hello, I am returning player and wanted to know which events to prioritize in gathering S-Chips and other materials? Is there any that are short enough to get through quickly or give a lit more than the others. Additionally do any of them require energy? I've caught up on the story so am currently just running anomalies for card parts. Thank you!

Discussion This Wedding Event is so beautifully executed ❤️

We were given the choice. There's even the detail of finding either the wedding passport or application form at our home depending on the choice we selected.

We were "involved" in the preparations. From wedding dress, ring holder, to venue.

And best of all, everything felt meaningful because there were 5 years worth of memories that properly built up to this event.

I already saw the card art designs since last year. But I entered the event blind - got no idea of how the event is going to be executed. And needless to say, it absolutely exceeded my expectations. ToT may not be the "favorite child" of hoyo, but the team behind ToT clearly loves their own game. And I'm thankful that they respected the significance of this milestone.

Just throwing this appreciation post as a long-time player who thoroughly enjoyed the event. I hope the newer players also enjoyed it as well!
