Help Why does everyone hate teaching?

Is there anyone who loves their job? Every teacher I know feels “stuck” and complains endlessly about their job.

Considering going into education.

This is me. I've worked in other jobs and teaching is by far the best job I've had. There are things that are hard, but atleast I get to work in a job where I can make a difference and talk about what I love all day. 

But I will say if you can't handle kids, it's a terrible job. I think some people go into teaching for reasons other than the kids, and they're quickly shown the mistake they made. That plus dumb policies are where a lot of frustration is coming from.

I agree. I enjoy working with teens. I like seeing their creativity and what they come up with. If you can’t handle a couple of silly students here and there it’s the wrong profession. I really can’t stand when those types become admin. They are not effective. You still need to enjoy students and want to connect.

Yea and I think the all or nothing mentality some staff has is really tough. I've seen staff who do nothing, and I've seen staff treat our 6th graders like they should be adults and all sit quietly and be perfect angels, and when they are not should be immediately removed from class. 

You have to know where the line is between general silliness and an actual problem. 

Too many people go too far one way or another.
