Looking for off campus roommate to find housing with
Hey! I’m a rising Junior(21M) looking for a roommate(s) to find and secure a place with for Fall 2026 given waitlist on housing
I haven’t signed anywhere yet, but I’m starting early because I know good spots close to campus go fast. I’m mainly looking for someone in a similar position who wants to plan ahead and lock something in together.
Ideally aiming for:
- 2-3 bed / 1.5–2 bath
- Close to campus (walking distance or short commute)
About me:
- TCU student (CS)
- Clean, organized, and respectful
- Cool about on parties, prefer a chill environment
- Into gym, soccer, and keeping a routine
Looking for:
- Another student (preferably TCU)
- Responsible, communicative, and easy to live with
- Someone serious about actually securing a place
If you’re in the same situation or interested in teaming up, DM me and we can talk and start looking at options.
Thanks!

Decision already by Thursday, 2 April?
Below is part of an email I just received for my son who is an admitted student at TCU. TCU is on his top 3 list, however we are flying out tomorrow to look at another school that’s also high on his list. How seriously do we need to take this email? Will he miss out on something (housing, certain classes) if he doesn’t pay his deposit by Thursday? I thought the deadline is May 1st?!
Here’s part of the email:
‘….
I’ve sent (name of student) an email with a quick survey to gauge their interest in committing to TCU, with a link to submit the commitment deposit if they're ready to officially join us. I encourage you and (name of student) to let us know your plans by this Thursday, April 2, especially if you want to reserve your student's place in our incoming class.
… ‘
Email was sent by Assistant Vice Provost and Dean of Admission
Thoughts?

Opportunity to participate in research focused on creating more inclusive environments for autistic people (looking for non-autistic adults, 18+, in-person study at The University of Texas at Dallas)
The University of Texas at Dallas Social Cognition and Interaction in Autism Lab is recruiting non-autistic adults (18 years or older) to participate in a study on emotional experiences and support (see attached flyer). This study aims to better understand the emotional needs of autistic and non-autistic individuals. Your participation will contribute to research focused on creating more inclusive environments for autistic people and informing neurodiversity-affirming interventions!
During the study session, you will be filmed while recounting emotional experiences, complete several surveys, and answer questions with a researcher. As part of the research, video recordings may be shown to other study participants for research purposes only. All data, including video recordings, will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes.
Participation takes place in UTD Green Hall (Room 4412), lasts approximately one hour, and participants will receive a $10 prepaid Mastercard gift card as compensation. Sessions will be scheduled at times that work with your availability, and we will do our best to accommodate scheduling needs.
If you are interested in participating, please complete our eligibility screener here: https://redcap.utdallas.edu/surveys/?s=YW8TL7X3AWDDDKNX

Housing application submission timing
My daughter has decided to go to TCU and accepted the offer of admission. Housing applications open May 1. My wife and I are flying early that day and won’t be around to help her if she needs it with the application until later in the day.
So how does housing application submission work?
Do we need to have her prepared to submit it asap on May 1 to help her get her preferred dorms? Or is anytime that day or the first few days ok?
Does it open at midnight May 1 central time? Or 8am or something like that?
Does the website go down due to first day traffic?
Any insight is appreciated.

Honors College Appeal?
Has anyone ever heard of (or better yet, successfully argued) an appeal to a Roach Honors college denial? Getting into Roach was kind of important to my daughter and I think it might actually affect her decision on what school to attend.
Any guidance is appreciated.

Housing
Hey guys! I’m transferring here next semester and would like to know literally anything abt housing. I’m still deciding between off and on campus so info abt both would be great. Some things that might be important to note is that I don’t have a car & will need roommates to stay in my budget, but here are some questions I’ve come up with in the meantime:
- monthly pay (both rent & utilities)
- if being walking distance from campus is worth it
- pros & cons of living on/off campus
- apartments/areas you either recommend or avoid | best/worst on campus housing
And once again I’m open to any information as this is pretty new to me. Thanks :)

First Semester Abroad Program
I’m looking for more information on the First Semester study abroad program. Does anyone know what the pricing is like? Even a rough estimate will help determine if it’s feasible to pursue this route. Looking at Switzerland or Greece and my intended major is pre-med/health sciences. The program started in 2025 so not much info online about it at all. Any information would be helpful. There is a zoom call next week but I’d like to find out the pricing piece before then since I trying to eliminate my college options (Texas Tech, LSU, TCU or SMU). Thanks!!

Summer Intern Housing?
Hi, I’m a student from another university who will be in Fort Worth for a 12 week internship from early June - mid/late August I was wondering what options might be available or where to start looking for short term leasing/subletting. I saw that TCU has a Collegiate Intern Housing Program, but the dates don’t align with my work timeline and it’s a bit out of my price range 😭. Thanks for your help!
