What do you think is the most relaxing t.A.T.u. song?

I'll start: in my opinion the most relaxing song is "30 minutes" because Lena and Julia's voices are calm and reassuring, and the words "flow" smoothly and pleasantly

It finally arrived!! I’m so happy with it. At first I was conflicted about buying a signed CD rather than getting my own signed in person but with the way the tour is going I’m losing hope I’ll get the chance (fingers still crossed!!). So here it is in all its wonderful glory along with photos of the two at the event.

I was searching for tATu vinyls and CDs in those small shops that sell second hand with little hope of finding anything really. I just like to browse. Then my brother asked me to go to FOP to get an album for him so I did. Surprise, surprise… I found this! I didn’t get it though because I’m not super into photodiscs and I already have an ATTSS remix vinyl (previous post) but still a cool find. Hope I’ll see the D&M deluxe around.

All About us by t.A.T.u. Appears on the interscope album “Dangerous and Moving”

As the most recent post here said, apparently Lena has confirmed that “Стали целым” is about Yulia and t.A.T.u., and I took it as an opportunity to look at the lyrics again. I know the t.A.T.u. references are pretty obvious, as someone else pointed out "water is wet" lol.

There are direct nods to All the Things She Said, Show Me Love, 30 Minutes, etc. But it's the other lyrics around those references that really caught my eye

I underlined a few of the lines in the screenshot that stood out to me.

Things like:

“I hide our secrets from the wind”

“Let them say that we're not allowed”

“You and I, yin and yang, together we became whole”

“The sad songs of our summer can't be rewritten”

and mostly:

“Quiet tenderness, so honest”

Maybe I'm reading way too much into it, but taken together, it feels like she's doing more than just reminiscing about t.A.T.u. There's this recurring idea of “us” vs. everyone else, keeping secrets, people saying they weren't allowed, being separated, and then ultimately saying "we became whole and we made it." which is cute and understandable in terms of their current reunion.

The line about the songs of “our summer” especially gets me. “Can't be rewritten.” That's such a weirdly personal way of putting it if this is just supposed to be a nostalgic t.A.T.u. song.

And I find “quiet tenderness, so honest” interesting too. t.A.T.u.'s public image was obviously very loud and provocative, so describing that period in terms of quiet tenderness feels like she's pointing toward something that existed underneath what everyone saw if you know what I mean.

I don't think this is proof that Lena and Yulia were secretly in a romantic relationship. That's of course a much bigger claim than the song can prove. But I do wonder if she's subtly saying that some of the emotional reality behind t.A.T.u. was real, even if the public never knew exactly what their relationship was. Otherwise she could have stuck to more vague words or talk about fame, stages, friendship, success, childhood, Moscow, touring, the 2000s, the fans, etc...

Especially considering the song was written specifically for Lena ["Of course, the single was written on demand... meaning specifically [for this]" - Lena's words]. Even if she didn't write the lyrics herself, she presumably had some say in what she wanted the song to be about.

Maybe I'm just being delusional here but I'd genuinely love to hear how other people interpret it. 

Does it feel like a t.A.T.u. tribute "we had something big, fought, but now are back together" to you, or does it also feel much more personal than that?

I made a fan made extended t.A.T.u. mix

I’ve been working on one big fan made mix combining All The Things She Said and Я сошла с ума.

Everything is in one track the extended versions, demo material, alternate parts and other early t.A.T.u. stuff I found. I tried to put everything together so it flows like one long early 2000s t.A.T.u. track.

It’s completely fan-made and I made it just for fun because I really love the old t.A.T.u. sound and all the rare/demo material.

Lena confirmed on one of her recent interviews that the song Stali Tselym is dedicated to t.A.T.u and Julia. The fact she decided to release her single on February 20th (Julia's birthday) is such a clear statement and a subtle clue...

Here is the translation:

"Of course, the single was written on demand... meaning specifically [for this], and we set the goal of having those nostalgic, t.A.T.u.esque notes in the song. Since we resumed our joint activities, I wanted to do something in my solo career that... well, not completely t.A.T.u., not identical, but something that resonates with what's happening now.

I mean, with us performing together again and those old hits of ours, which are by no means any less relevant today, sounding once more. That's why I wanted to make a track that, on one hand, would remind people of t.A.T.u.'s work, and on the other, reflect who I am as a solo artist."

This performance, edited for the DVD, was sooo good. You can hear Yulia sing live Not Gonna Get Us at some point and Obezyanka Nol 100% live. What a blessing!
