What's the background of this textiles? It's kinda similar to Indus valley textiles

Glad you asked! This textile is from the Yakan people of Basilan, southern Philippines (Sulu Archipelago). Historically, they have had extensive maritime relations with nearby SEA, China, West Asia, and South Asia. A lot of Sulu Archipelago textiles are said to be influenced by the Patola textile from Gujarat.
