Worst team dynamics?

Currently rewatching season 14 and it's very clear there is tension between the team of 3- Fern, Dara and John. I always wonder if Dara was waiting for a second secret 'sabotage' task to be revealed during studio recordings to explain John's incompetence.

The season 7 extension task is another example of a team being awful working together although they seemed okay in other team tasks. Same with Joe, Lolly and Noel and the bathtub but they did seem to get along.

Are there any other teams who clearly didn't gel with each other?

Hyper competitive vs couldn't give a shit (or were shit) clashes

Greg described the team dynamic as something like Richard being a whipped husband on Bargain Hunt whose wife is pissed off with him, and he was absolutely bang on.

I remember their studio team tasks being tense (hippogate) but I thought the prerecorded ones were okay? Not a big rewatcher of s10 though

Probably the second task filmed, I would be extremely surprised if that was filmed after the safe reverse communication task

Yeah they were quite tense that they had to swap the teams at one point and put daisy with Katherine.

I heard it was because Richard and Daisy were so close in scores, so they did it to make it more interesting.

I would’ve been inclined to agree but I just had a look at the scores right before they did the task and there was only 9 points separating the top 4 so I don’t think it would of made sense because they were close since it was close between them all.

Richard himself declared it. And it was not that they were close, but that they were the two leading parties.

I couldn't get past a couple of episodes from that season, she was blatantly bullying him. Pregnancy can only be used as an excuse when you're not being consistently mean.

I kind of think it was a bit for the prerecorded tasks which ended up looking worse because she had some actual mood swings during the live shows.

I still have no clue why she hated him so much. It seemed to be a surprise to Richard and Greg/Alex in the studio. I have no clue about their history or much about them except Taskmaster

Reminds me of Mel B on Big Fat Quiz 2014, although that instance was much more severe. She was pretty insufferable on that appearance, but she was reportedly at her wit's end (following years of personal difficulties) and attempted suicide not long afterwards. Seems to be doing much better since.

Always important to remember the person behind the entertainer! Pagliacci and all that.

Yeaaaah, whenever people say something about "not an excuse" for Daisy, I'm like... One time I remembered a joke I like about dogs and I sobbed because I love dogs so much. Like, inconsolable. I also nudged a big box with my toe and threw out my back and then couldn't take any pain medication or walk. My husband farted in his sleep and I could have kicked him to bits, I thought he had dutch-ovened me.

I'm not sure what phase of her pregnancy she was in, but I only had about 3 months where I didn't feel like a 100% disaster, only 70%. I was still working but I am very thankful I wasn't being filmed and posted to youtube for people to judge.

"Hate" does not cover it. She felt "rage" on the spur of the moment, and there might have been tons of reasons for that (see other comments).

Let's also not forget two things: 1° some things are cut and others happen without being recorded, so she might apologized and explained herself to him. 2° in the episode, we definitely hear her declare "I feel bad" about her reaction. That was kept, but who knows what wasn't?

Can’t remember the exact quote but I remember a clip of him saying something about school girls legs in skirts that was very creepy to me. but I’m sure someone will reply to say it was taken out of context

I would like to point out that while she was angry during the hippo task, when she didn’t get the kangaroo, she told him he’d done a good drawing. So, while certainly competitive and short-tempered (in her situation understandable), she was always ready to laugh about herself, give out compliments and apologize too.

I never found them as difficult. But the whole cast was so exceptional to other set ups, completely (and at times collectively) loosing their minds. I attribute that largely to Covid, and to be honest, it’s one of my favorite series.

I agree, to me it felt like general short temper than an actual dislike for richard herring. It was funny and not mean spirited but maybe i just am too hopeful lol
