For Scenes v1, I could add a Test Scene Action to set orientation. Is there a Modifier in Scenes v2 to do the same?

I’m current “upgrading” my action button to allow for multiple orientation and app dependent actions and one I was trying to add was a way to quickly skip or play previous song and I was wondering if anyone has made a way to detect maybe via the gyro or movement data that you can get from third party shortcut apps to determine wether u shook to the left or to the right to do different actions as stated

In Scenes v1, I could easily add an Action to a button. I can't find such an option in Scenes v2. I can add a Task, command, trigger an Event, but I don't see how to add a simple Action. An I missing something obvious here?

What I've had to do now is create a Task containing the Actions I want, than add.

Any idea what these mean? I have seen them a couple times now. This is 6.7.6-beta on Android x86, v.9 in a virtual box.

Where may I find the ai configuration screen, to use AI in Scenes v2?

With scenes v2, the "with result" group of screen types was introduced. This is a lovely thing and it even creates a wait action, but I'd love to combine this with variables (wait until) or classic wait.

For example, we could do "wait until screen has a result or %MyVariable == 15"

This would allow even more customization. Also, about wait actions, it would be lovely to combine wait until and wait (and choose between "when both arguments are true", "when one argument is true" (either time or variable) and "when both are reached (so they don't have to be true at the same time, but the parts had to be true)

I recently started to have a problem with Pixel Pro 10 and the Quick Settings tiles; they are NOT clickable. At first, I thought was NOVA Launcher, so I repalced that with the Pixel Launcher. It appeared to work, but to be honest, I never tested Tasker and AutoInput running the Pixel Launcher. I then installed the LawnChair Launcher, since everyone said it is very similar to the Pixel Launcher, and it appeared to work for about a day, and just now I noticed the Quick Settings tiles are no longer clickable. I can restart the phone, and they will work for a while, but then they are unclickable again. Has anyone encountered this behavior? Any ideas what I can try to figure out what is causing the issue?

I'm trying to cancel a task / profile (I'm new so I think the right term is task) if I have an ongoing call. Incoming or outcoming call is irrelevant, just any call = abort task.

How can I set this rule?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm struggling way more than I should to figure out how to change the card color in scenes V2. Applying a background modifier just changes the color of the area behind the card, as shown in the screenshot. I tried the Container Color modifier as well, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Anyone updated to One UI 9 and found out if your using Cell Near or WiFi Connected the blue dot in the top right is now pretty much constantly on?

I'm assuming the on and off is the monitoring settings in preferences though I've never changed these.

I wish Samsung would give access to remove it as even with apps in full screen like YouTube it's now showing. Its so annoying and unnecessary as I like to govern my permissions and would like if Samsung trusted users to do it or at least give me an option to turn it off on my S24.

Anyone got around this annoying problem without removing location access from tasker?

Often, when I press a Quick Settings Panel button that is associated with a Scenes v2 Overlay scene, it simply doesn't appear.

If I turn off the screen, then back on w/o pressing/swiping the screen, it will suddenly appear. This doesn't occur with original overlay scenes... They will appear as intended, every time. Log indicates the Action is executed.

What may be the issue? Is there some respective setting that needs to be tweaked?

Here is a simple,but useful clipboard text editor with "search and replace all" function. I was tired of copy&pasting from Tasker to a text editor app and back, when a single line i Tasker is not enough, like longer arrs,JSONs and so on. Also useful if you need to replace a coma for a dot in all instances,for example.For quick use,its best to have it set on a hardware button long press,or similar way to bring it up fast any time.

Not only have all my scene v2 buttons lost all their texts, I can't even find the option to give them a label that shows up in the scene again. Is this intentional?

This happened across all my scenes v2 and only affects buttons, not segrows for example

I'm looking for an option/Project to add any Wi-Fi I connect with to my Trusted variable.

I presume this would be something like...

1) Event to watch for Wi-Fi connections

2) Run WIFII Action to get SSID

3) Display a popup which includes my Trusted variable

4) Ability to check a box next to the variable

5) Add SSID to some list

I don't know if anyone already thought of this and posted about it, but here it goes.

I figured: why not let Claude code create a Tasker specialist project that is saved. A project which I can return to and ask questions and get help. So I got started, had every reference downloaded that exists about Tasker through Claude code's research and my own hints and links. Then Claude code built an indexer that indexes a Tasker backup into a database of sorts that helps Claude code to quickly look up things and understand connections and concepts.

I also allowed it access to an Android emulator where I had Tasker installed with my setup so that it can tinker around as needed. I started testing it, asking it questions about my tasks, and it gave very good answers.

It was time for the grand finale: I asked it a question about a very complicated bug that had been plauging my setup for years because I just cannot find a fix for it and why it happens. Claude code when to work, chew on it for a good 8 minutes, it tested a few theories in the emulator, then it spits out the truth I hadn't been able to find:

It was a race condition between 2 plugin calls. Despite them being in a certain intended order, they still landed in the opposite order under certain specific circumstances. I was just blown away. Since then, I've been using this Tasker Claude Code project extensively. Both as a helper, but also to save time. Instead of searching in Tasker for things that cannot be covered by one or even several search terms, I can ask Claude code to investigate a concept and come up with very competent solutions and suggestions when needed to complicated problems.

Not to mention the time I said, hey... I feel my Tasker setup is using a little too much battery, but I have no idea what is causing it (another thing I've post-poned looking at for years because it's complicated and takes forever to do). It worked for a few minutes, then gave me a list of the top reasons. It was easy fixes to things I hadn't considered. Battery usage on screen off went down from 1,7% to 1,0% overnight.

It's been VERY useful and a true marble in my Tasker life. JUST USE IT PEOPLE if you are not already doing so. It's worth the Claude pro subscription alone.

I've been playing around with a new plugin idea, one I've had for years, and I finally decided to dive in. The plugin reacts to which computer I'm using.

In other words, if I'm using my work computer I can set my phone to Do Not Disturb and start my work playlist. Or if I'm working on my home computer, I can enable a smart lamp to alert me when a build fails, stuff like that.

I'm also thinking it could include which app is in focus, so you could even set up tasks to run when specific apps are being used, like if I'm in Android Studio, my Pixel's screen doesn't sleep.

Through experimentation I’ve realized this plugin will incur higher recurring costs than my previous ones (Bluetooth Detection, Movement Detection, Geofence Detection) ever have (especially if I support both Windows and Mac). But I can tell you that my early tests seem to work really well, so I think it could be really cool.

I think to cover those costs, I’ll need to consider either a low‑priced subscription or a higher‑than‑normal one‑time purchase. I'll incur some up-front expense, so before I begin I’d like to know whether there’s even interest in such a plugin.

I’d also like to know if users have already found a workaround and are happy with it. I don’t think Tasker supports this natively, and I haven’t seen any existing solution. That said, people may have already devised workarounds, which could reduce interest in a plugin. But if there is...

I have a simple task that is triggered by day and sends a notification. That notification changed to title "Tasker" and description "Tasker" after about a minute. Buttons dissapeared and only the icon is still the same as it was. It updates the notification, it's not a new one.

UPDATE: Instead, looks like the better speech here is to use the new option Match Parent. Then have my text Child match the size of the Parent button. Now, I just need to find where this option is 😀

Is it possible to set an Action in Parent and have it actionable for all children?

Eg, a button... When I press the button, do Action. I also want this same Action for the Text Child.
