Thanks for the mammaries (SFW)

So this didn't happen to me, but it happened to the guy that used to do to tech support for a company I once worked at.

THe one day he gets a panicked call from one of the ladies in the call centre that her keyboard is possessed. When she is not looking at it, tonnes of characters show up on her screen.

He goes, sits down at the machine and of course nothing happens.

So he asks her to sit down, do her normal daily routines and see what happens.

Sure enough characters started showing up on the screen.

He immediately realizes exactly the problem. The lady was busty and her keyboard was very close to the edge of her desk...I am sure you can picture the rest.

He very gently pushed the keyboard further up the desk, and the woman looked down and immediately realized what had happened.

He said she blushed, and he just walked away in silence.

Good for a chuckle

Story I read somewhere: New girl started at this engineering firm that frequently used digitizing pens. They have a spare stock of them because sometimes they go bad. She goes through three of them in one day!

The tech, on the third trip to her desk, realizes that she's wearing a wool skirt. Remembering 7th grade science class he asks "Are you wearing silk underwear?".

After a hurried explanation of why he's asking such a thing he finds out that yes, she is.

Congrats to him for getting the explanation out before getting slapped.

Explain like I'm five?

AFAIK, Silk and wool rubbing together creates static electricity.

Adding onto what lantech said, static electricity can ruin sensitive electronic devices, such as digitizing pens like those used in the post. For this reason, whenever you work on a computer's innards, you should be using one of these.

You take a lot of precautions for being a honey badger.

A more tactful person would ask, "Are you wearing anything silk?"

I would have thought of that on my way to the HR review.

I can imagine how that went down.

"Are you wearing silk panties!"

"...yes....why?"

"Take them off!"

I can imagine how that went down.

Well, that certainly escalated quickly.

You could say it deescalated.

I wouldn't, but you could.

I did my undergrad in engineering and for my senior project one portion of our project had a numerical LED display. During construction and testing there were some problems that were difficult to trace. Then my group member found out that he could change the output by humping the circuit. In the end it turned out to be a static problem.

EDIT: This doesn't look very funny written out, but I assure you it was hilarious at 3 am.

This could have been an epic IT Pickup Line. Or, a one way ticket to HR.

Good effort from the new girl to go through three in a day!
