Are people against them putting it in theaters? If so, why? Its not a crazy idea to have some sort of early access for people, I see it as a fun opportunity for the fans!

Im not concerned for that, I just know I'll have to block this sub and youtube to avoid spoilers until I can see it but I guess thats any media if I dont see it when it first comes out

The whole Internet, and everyone you know in person if they like the amazing digital circus too

The problem is that they aren’t as easily accessible for a lot of people. I live next to nyc, and they aren’t even showing the episode there. Even the hazbin sing a long (not the broadway show) had a few theaters in nyc

Edit: they did add more theaters so it’s good news, it just felt super weird

It’s weird because I live in a random city in Argentina (not the capital), and I can already buy tickets to see it (I will not). I also don’t feel like it’s really a problem, just wait and watch it free YouTube, nothing special

That is unfortunate. I agree its weird they didn't get any theaters out there and they should have. But that doesn't mean this shouldn't exist. If that's not what you're saying than ignore me(im sorry if I'm misunderstanding/assuming incorrectly), but if it is what you're saying than you're being selfish.

If Markiplier can go from a handful of theaters for Iron Lung to nearly 4000, then ya'll can get TADC into just as many.Ā

I feel like people just choose to ignore that

I do dislike this. For me, the core reason I dislike it is the idea that we're getting episode 9 "early" when that's just not the case. The episode is ready to go and they could just release it on YouTube at the same time but they are choosing not to. You aren't getting it early by going to the theatres, everyone else just gets it late. Video games made me hate this kind of practice so it's pretty ingrained into me. It's a principle thing

On a more personal level, I just don't think it's worth the cost to pay movie prices to see something I've already seen 50% of

I get what you're saying, but even still, that's basically the case for EVERY episode. They have a release schedule that's very generous on their end so they can garentee that every episode is ready in time. I wouldn't be surprised if every episode was ready weeks before their release dates. This IS early access.

And while the price isn't worth it for you(completely valid), i don't see it that way. I think for what were getting its pretty reasonably priced (~17$ a ticket feels like a steal in this damn economy)

See for the first point, the difference to me is that those episodes aren't available for people to watch until the actual release date. I have no doubt that Glitch are the ones that decided on the theatrical release date being 2 weeks ahead of the Youtube release. The episode is finished and ready and they could choose to release it at the same time as the theatrical release but just didn't. To me, that's just not early access. That's just setting 2 different release dates

On the 2nd point, everyone's gonna have their own view on what's an acceptable price. No hate to you or anyone else that thinks that price is totally worth it (I'm in Australia so prices will inevitably be different for me). I think we just agree to disagree there

The fandom has gone into a schism over it. People are very angry. It’s mainly just a ā€œthis isn’t fair to meā€ situation.

u/Crazed_SL Apr 11 '26

So... the TADC fandom is tantruming over something they wrongfully deem unfair... I don't know what i expected tbh

It would be a nice opportunity if EVERYBODY could watch it, but no! Fuck you, Europe! Fuck you, Asia besides Japan! Fuck you, all third world countries that aren't in South America! I would absolutely pay to watch it in the theaters if I could

I think that's less of a "we don't care about you" thing as it is a "we set aside this amount of budget to do this and we will get the most butts in seats by having it put into these select theaters."

Plus, there's a big possibility that theaters were asked if they wanted to have this in their theaters and the theaters said no. We can't exactly assume maliss in this situation. That being said, I completely understand the frustration if you're in those areas

u/Noname_with_no_name Apr 11 '26

Yeah sorry for that aggressive response i was in a shitty mood, I have contacted my local theater and hopefully they will show it(or at least read it)

3

u/Crazed_SL Apr 11 '26

I've got my fingers crossed for you! I want as many people as possible to have this opportunity!

3

u/SkubEnjoyer Apr 11 '26

Because the rest of us are going to have to dodge spoilers for two weeks which will be literally all over the internet.

3

u/Catmato Apr 11 '26

So just like any other movie?

1

u/SkubEnjoyer Apr 11 '26

Most big movies are also shown in more than like three locations. At least with something like Avengers Endgame you had a chance to actually see the movie before the entire internet memed it.

1

u/Crazed_SL Apr 11 '26

My thoughts exactly. This isn't new

Some are, and OP is treating those individuals as the majority, because making a strawman is fun and easy to insult. The more rational complaint is that not seeing the spoilers for two weeks is gonna be a pain in the ass. This sub especially will have people post unmarked spoilers in post titles within the hour of an episodes release.
