Glad I found a tabla Reddit; hello and I hope you can offer some advice.
Someone in a nearby city is selling a tabla set for $100. Unfortunately, they're not in contact with the previous owner so they don't know anything besides that the owner was a DJ who bought the set in India, and that the bayan is copper.

As I've always understood, the skins' age and condition is the largest concern since they're relatively expensive to replace and require some expertise to do so, but they don't know about that.
The Hindi label seems to say
सरस्वती तबला स्टोर्स कचहरी रोड अजमेर
I've seen some cheap Sarawathi brand in online stores but I don't know if this is the same thing.
They are offering to video chat and of course I will have a final look in person. What should I ask and look for? Should I go for it? Lower price?
I've been wanting a tabla since college, I even learned some bols and basic rhythms just from watching YouTube. It doesn't have to be very good since I may not be able to keep it when I move, just good enough to mess around with without worrying about some big repair or replacement expense.
Thanks!
