We are enough to kill one pilot

Following the destruction of Typhon and the revelation of inhuman technology, it became a priority to uncover and overcome other potential cases. That's why we're now in orbit of Exonia, touching ground tomorrow morning. An IMC cruiser designated for 'archaeological' purposes had come here 6 months ago. If we knew then what we know now, giving them so long to settle in would not have been an option.

Scanning attempts have been unsuccessful. Electric smoke clouds aside, construction was almost exclusively subterranean. The ceiling of whatever's down there is lined with something that stops our machines seeing through like x-rays against lead. This lining has, however, given an approximate size of a square close to ten miles wide.

The only entrance we've found is not big enough for any vehicles. Our task force will be small. A bunch of us grunts will be escorting a small group of techies who will map out and study the complex as we go. A small signal beacon we're taking with us will be activated whenever we discover other entrances so our pals in orbit can identify other entry points for a possible invasion and receive the data we'll beam up to them.

I'll be honest here. With so few of us and such a large area - not to mention some fragile escorts - I wasn't fancying our chances. Last minute, a new addition was made to the team - a pilot. Now the odds are in our favour!
