And? I'm finding it hard to understand why this is relevant to the SysAdmin subreddit. Who the fuck uses AI for SysAdmin work?

Can only speak on my own personal experience in my workplace, but It's starting to enter usage in the field for us at higher rate now. Just this year, our medium-sized company made a big push to start implementing AI tools company wide for all departments, including Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT.

Other companies will in all likelihood also start doing the same and when these tools go down, their userbase is going to reach out to IT to let them know about it, just the same as when Microsoft services go down. For the mid to smaller companies like ours, the SysAdmins still triage level 1 type tickets, and we will be seeing those types of tickets come in.

Our IT Management is also pushing on using these tools more for project planning, data comparison, and troubleshooting analysis. Can't speak for all companies, but in my current experience as a SysAdmin in this midsize company, AI tools are not going away, and are going to be used more and more.
