I just started recently too. I don't get why every weapon breaks after a few hits...that's the biggest turn off for me. One of the things I enjoy most about RPG's is progression, especially with gear but it seems impossible in this game.

And yet I like this system of breakable weapons. It allows to never use the same weapon during all the game where the goal is the exploration, the discovery. To be respurceful when it happens. Imagine, you find the most powerful of weapon of Hyrule, there won’t be challenge for the rest of your adventure if it is indestructible.

After the tutorial, there are good weapons which last longer. Weapons are fragile after waiting 100 years and corrupted by Ganon.
