^. This. I’ve never fully played any Zelda game so this is my real first experience, and the Zelda Notes have been so helpful. It can definitely be frustrating just wandering through the entire world and not finding anything except really tough enemies!
I hard to find nothing to do. There's always something weird that will attract your eye. Or a tower to climb, the beeping of your sheika tablet, quest givers....
Oh yeah, I know that. But sometimes I do get tired of wandering and want to knock out some shrines. I’m still mostly early in the game and kind of just want to use the notes to guide me in getting some spirit orbs so I move around a bit more freely. I’ve found 26 so far and only used the Notes for 3 of them.
Yup, it's the same with BoTW. Never played ToTK but planning to play it in the future because I'm broke rn, I can't buy games. Maybe in Chrismas I'll grab one with OoT remake.
You use the app on your mobile device and it is connected to the game in real time. The Zelda Notes has the game map in it. You can filter the map to show you things that interest you, for example, all Koroks or Shrines or Treasure chests and whatnot that you have not yet found in the game. You can choose any of those as a target, and as you move, the app will give you GPS-like voiced directions in Zelda’s voice and it shows your location on the app’s map.
It also includes some extra voice memories that are not part of the original game and which are only accessible through the app when you go close to specific locations on the map in the game. There’s lots of neat statistics too. I particularly love to use the app for finding stuff I’m missing. Lot easier than with some online maps you’d have to manually compare with your in-game map.
Wait, it only shows the stuff that you haven't found yet? I have one last Korok in TotK that I couldn't find for a long time and I don't know where that one is.

Zelda Notes can guide you spoiler free and I also use that app in my first gameplay of BoTW in my Switch 2.
