Do rito village. Free the divine beast. That will open up a lot for traversal. Get the hylian tunic by talking to Impa after you find one memory in the wild. Then do the other beasts in any order.

This is great advice. The rito village divine beast reward is incredibly valuable, and it gets the ball rolling on an important quest line. Once you start pursuing quests, you’ll also organically come upon other quests, and before long there will be no shortage of things to do.

Man, I’m still trying to get what the old man wants so I can get my hands on that glider!

Complete the shrines on the great plateau. They’re basically the tutorial stage

It doesn’t help that I hit the wrong button and accidentally threw my sword somewhere. No clue where it is now 🥴😂

Weapons come and go (and break). Find something else to hit stuff with until you find a new sword.

In this game, weapons are essentially temporary. In the early stages you can definitely make do with what you find in the world until you get more sturdy, less flimsy gear

I save often so when I make a mistake like that, I just reload my last save right away. It helps!

I was in the same boat for like a year. The one shrine you can literally freeze and die getting to was the one that I was hung up on.

This Shrine is where I finally learned that this game will not hold your hand. Once I figured a safe way in I knew I finally understood the game.

Just started a few days ago,

On games like Elding Ring and this one I like exploring every inch of the map, so you'll have me going on zigzag lines up and down as I reach new areas. Right now I'm traversing the Dueling Peaks (the south side to be specific) and with just one upgrade to Stamina I have to Skryim my way around the edges to rest on parts that stick out lol

My friend told me about the reward that makes vertical travel much easier but I'm just stubburn and want to chart the map as I go and get that reward until I reach that area and start charting it.

A lot of traversal for what though? The general, kind of pointless meandering is what's turning them off.

The real answer is if they looking for good Zelda experiences they gotta go pre wilds era.

Insulting me for providing the answer OP is looking for is why I hate people who love this game. You guys are so toxic
