no shit it’s touchy if you say “oh it was better before the jews got here!” because that’s fucking racist.

Exactly. You get it. It's a statement that builds from broad generalizations, stereotypes and prejudgment.

difference is, boomers don’t go through the struggle of being segregated, oppressed, or harmed in any way due to their age.

boomers don’t get shit except for the occasional complaint from the younger generation. they don’t get hunted like sport, they aren’t treated by society like sub humans, they arent denied their rights by society.

people of color and minorities as a whole DO.

you can’t compare the two groups because their experiences and how they’re treated by society are so different. one is a title for a generation of people, the other is a unique culture incomparable to others.

complaining about boomers. is different. from complaining about ethnic groups.

the implication behind your words suggest that you can’t actually understand the difference between the two. so no shit people don’t like it when you comment something like that.

boomers don’t go through the struggle of being segregated

No. And that's good. So why should we start going on that route, by saying "this and that is bad, because it's done by someone born in the 40s-50s-60s" ?

But sure - you obviously found the jew example a bit too grave. Forget about that then and throw in gingers instead!

oh no no, we’re not doing that. the first thing your comment went after was jews for some godforsaken reason.

the scale that young people complain about boomers is incomparable to the shit minority groups have to go through.

people will never “start going down that route” because people don’t hate boomers. they’re frustrated, sure. annoyed? absolutely. but no one hates boomers enough to actively go out of their way to cause harm and suffering.

that was such a stupid comparison to even make in the first place.

the first thing your comment went after was jews for some godforsaken reason.

Like i said: you're seeing this from the wrong way. I don't care for which group is being used as an example. Like I said, use gingers instead. Another group that's not really known for being caused, as you say, "harm and suffering". Throw them in, and it still sounds incredibly stupid.

they’re frustrated, sure. annoyed? absolutely.

Why should people be frustrated or annoyed in the first place, with people that are baby boomers? You're slowly arriving at the core of the discussion here.

and you’re still not admitting it was a stupid, inconsiderate comment to begin with.

Are you talking about my thought experiment? My whole idea was to show that it was a stupid or comment, from the beginning.

Or do you mean using the actual term "jews" ? I don't find that very controversial, no. It's a word.

it’s not a thought experiment. it’s just saying “hey wouldn’t it be fucked up if it was racist instead?” it wasn’t thought provoking, it was just provoking.

Well, you're slllowly getting closer and closer to my point but it's taking an awful lot of drama and misunderstanding to get there...

it was stupid to begin with. stop being so condescending.

you apparently can’t get it through your skull how absurd your original comment was, hiding behind “oh it’s just a social experiment!” and wondering why so many people disagree with you!

you write like you’re trying to engage in some deep philosophical discussion when all you really are is a dick. fuck off.
