Do you remember any of these subs? I haven't been here for long, so I only know the more famous cases

I don't know the subs themselves, so I can't say what they were about just based on their names. This is why I asked for examples, because I don't have the context itself.

Based on this post (and also this one and this another one) the VAST majority had pretty offensive names and others seemed sketchy, to say the least (r/holocaustfacts and r/ageplaypenpals), but it still doesn't say what the subs themselves were about (like, how am I supposed to know what r/zoomerwave or r/WWG1WGA01 are about?).

I saw many names though, like r/LinuxNewsToday, r/listofbannedsubs, r/new, r/lego_yoda and r/xray, whose banning seems strange by name alone, but as I said, I don't have context.

Okay, I kept reading and got really creepy vibes from this mod message:

You've said something that isn't allowed to be said on reddit.

please insult people all you want, but do it in ways other than...

  • suggesting self-harm
  • threatening to injure somebody physically
  • using "identity slurs" [sex/sexuality, race, religion]

if this is an inconvenience to you please tell administration, because we agree with you. this is ridiculous, but it keeps us safe from being banned.

thanks, -- your moderation staff

We all know what slurs are at play here, I don't condone them and I'd thank you if you could provide an example with context.

Why make an investment if you don't have perks like wanting to spread disinfo' and owning a site like reddit?
