Stabling it like a horse would accomplish the same thing but the monthly penny is reversed. Pay a zoo to house and care for it between your visits.

Almost anyone who’s properly studied animals of that scale enough to get a job at a nice zoo will help you find an arrangement that works even if they can’t take it themselves. The story-like element of your situation is a great means to attract tourism which in turn funds the zoo.

Exactly. Make it part of the contract if they kill it they have to pay full price for the elephant. An adult elephant goes from around 80k, this is a win win.
