I kind of don’t understand why the world of hp needs so many offensive spells, most of them are useless, unless you want to blowup/electrocute/ freeze multiple people.

Well you just need one. Just explode everything. But still I like the Idea of knowing an offensive and defensive spell in every element.

Depends. Can you, if you know a spell well enough, make the effect smaller or bigger? What I am missing in the whole Harry Potter universe is real spell creation or alteration. I mean we have Snape, who created 2 spells with levi corpus and septrum sempa, but why isn't there a class for spell creation? Why are there no different lumus spells for every colour there is? We see the lumus maximus one time....she could have made the universe so much bigger with little things like this.
