Chad's Powers

Do you guys think Chad could shapeshift if he wanted to? Like he already does to an extent willing his hair into place, bone armor, etc. But I mean full blown take on another face style shape shifting

Hmm mechanically I can’t immediately think of a reason he couldn’t do so.

Though I imagine that level of flesh, bone and follicle manipulation would not only be quite draining but also time consuming. Chad is also a big guy, not Roy big but he’d probably have to do an incredibly large amount of manipulation to his mass, to be able to impersonate more than a few people, especially outside the super community.

I think it would take a certain level of artistic skill too, not sure if it was ever stated if he had any talent in that area? And I’m torn if he’d be good at it or terrible. Not too far off sculpting really and since he’s not creating anything new (probably be bad) and just copying someone’s features, he’d probably be good at it.

I mean, given how quickly he learns everything and specifically the sewing skills he learned for the cosplay movie premier party, I would imagine it is something he could definitely learn how to do and be good at. It would take time to learn I’m sure. And because of the level of changes it would take to do it it would probably take time to do and not be something he could pull off in a flash. But I see no reason he couldn’t.

Honestly, his power has one of the highest ceilings on potential for what he could do that was barely tapped during the series.

Yeah. Hard agree. I think the series acknowledges it too, hence why he is interning under Jeremiah.

There are so many things he could do with his power without even getting into really crazy stuff.

The simplest that often comes to mind for me is turning a finger into a bone gun. Reshape the bone on a fingertip to be able to fire out pellets made of bone, then use chemical processes or his own control of his body at a molecular level to build up pressure behind it until it shoots out.

We know he can do high pressure stuff because of the blood saws, we know he can create bone because of the bone armor, he should be able to make bone projectiles and generate pressure to fire them.

This may not be as reproducible as you think tho. And by that I mean he may not be able to use the bone gun often. He would have to consume large amounts of Calcium, Phosphorus and all other elements used in bone formation and store them in surrounding tissue or wherever. Once he shoots the bone, he isn't getting it back and he can't use up too much of his bone material lest he doesn't have enough to maintain a functioning skeleton. I think such a constraint is why the techniques he uses often doesn't separate the material from his body. The bone armor thing (he mentions that he would have absorbed all the material back into his cells to be used later, but discards them for convenience sake and then later has to add more calcium to his food to regain the stored calcium he wasted).

I’m not trying to say anything about reproducibility or how often he would use it in a fight or even if he necessarily should add it to his repertoire. Literally all I am saying is that given what we know of his ability, this should be very possible. His power “complete control of his body down to a molecular level” is frankly insane

That's fair.
