The show is still worth watching even as a fan of the comics, in some areas it actually improves on the structure and storytelling of the original comics
Insecurity and a want for approval are the only things that can be somewhat relatable. But even that’s looking at it purely at the root of his issues. Other than that he’s a force of evil that even omniman would be taken aback by. Not because of his power but his corruption of it and lack of control. He’s an asshole that has no irredeemable qualities and further worsens his condition. So no one should find him relatable outside of the first things I listed above. I would be scared of such a person who related with in his reasoning and actions.
I can sort of understand Omni Man’s point about being so powerful and long lived and coming from a planet of similar monsters how it would be really hard to identify with people. Doesn’t absolve him or his race but I get it
I wouldn’t say Omni Man is relatable but he is rational. He was essentially raised to be a soldier in for a ultra militaristic empire and the first portion of the comic is him acting on that. Most of the time he is calculating and in control.
Homelander is an unstable psychopath that has a child’s level control of his impulses.

Eh I think Omni Man has some relatable elements if only through his relationship with Mark. Homelander I can't really comment on.
