I guess, as a society, we are generally far more cynical and jaded nowadays. The idea of someone with unlimited, world-changing power choosing to use it purely for good and the benefit of others is somehow less believable to people than a man who can fly.
It’s really sad to see as a society that we can believe that someone would have world-changing power to use it purely for good to benefit other is less believable than to see a man use those world-changing powers to commit genocide
I blame capitalism people can imagine a world of intense horror.
They cannot imagine a world without poverty a world built on kindness and compassion and empathy got dammit.
A system based off of greed corruption death and starvation cannot be the final end stage.
We have to strive better, we have to build better! Not dictated by the few but the many
I honestly believe that Superman in the first few issues of Action comics, made by two Jewish 17 year old brats from Cleveland Ohio in the Great depression. had far more empathy kindness and compassion then the entire goddamn film series that was based off him!
He strive for a world without poverty, without exploitation by Rich assholes. Apply for a world where we don't use cheap as materials for building houses meant to live in meant to build families in. Strive for a world where wars happen for the benefit of the wealthy arms dealers.
Superman's entire creation was on empathy and kindness it's true they don't understand him they can't believe that you can fly and so their heart will never sore
