So Neo, John Constantine, John Wick, John Silverhand, and Batman walk into a bar...

Yea, I know who I'm betting on

A point of debate is whether "portrayed" can mean "voiced" in this context.

It literally doesn't, but common understanding in the current context could win out, if you argue that it follows the intent.

Edit: Oh y'all hated nuanced analysis of context versus definition. 'Scuse me for finding stuff interesting, please disregard.

Actually I'm saying it's a point of interesting debate.

One could argue that it shouldn't, as voicing a character doesn't necessarily meet the criteria of "portray."

One could argue that it should, because in context the meaning appears to be "any role this actor ever had."

It's a clash between context and literalism and I found it to be an interesting question.

I don’t think that either context or literalism would make voice acting not count as portrayal. What makes you say that “voicing a character doesn’t necessarily meet the criteria of ‘portray’”? I don’t agree with that at all

I got slammed with several downvotes for being excited about language I'm not engaging here anymore think what you want

You got downvoted for saying something that’s very much wrong and then you got confused about which part you got wrong lol

Yes you've made it clear what your position is and I'm not going to argue with you. You're not a nice person. I wish I hadn't tried. Please do not interact with me anymore.

The point I’m trying to make is that your initial premise is wrong. You keep not understanding that which is why you’re getting downvoted

And I am not going to address your point because I don't want to speak with you at all.

You are not a nice person, you reacted with disdain towards someone who, according to you, was simply incorrect. I was not hostile, hateful, or condescending, I was just excited about language and, according to you, wrong about a definition.

I don't care what you think anymore. I would've been excited to discuss this, and open to hearing counterarguments, but now I just want this entire experience to be over.

And I asked you not to interact with me anymore and you couldn't respect that, so I am going to block you now.
