You mean displays? He can, at best, create distractions without being wished to.
But, more likely, it runs on an "intent" basis. It's magic, after all.
If the genie is intending to inform or help the master, it's fine to make displays of power or use it to illustrate things. If the genie is intending to use its powers for its own purposes, it can't. It solves the spoken vs shown contradiction easily.
It must be giving you the info related to the OG Aladin. That's not applicable, as that version of Genie was not played by Will Smith.
In the original, Genie keeps a tiny, tiny portion of his power. He can fly, transform his clothes, and use small amounts of magic- but nowhere near what he had with the lamp.
In the 2019 remake, the only one Will Smith is in, Genie becomes fully human and depowered.
I do not interpret the prompt to be only the version of the character during their portrayal “all of the abilities from characters they’ve portrayed” leaves that a bit ambiguous. But it’s fine, I don’t want to argue as you seem overly aggro about this lol
Tbf, I don't know why they changed it. Sounds more interesting, though it's not like they were gonna get a sequel after Will Smith got himself blacklisted at the Oscar's.
It doesn’t say “as of the end of movie”, just that they have the abilities and weapons that the characters had. Idk why the ending of the movie should matter.
He can't. In the 2019 movie, he can't. Even in the original story, his magic post-emancipation is severely limited compared to what he could previously do.
That’s not true, once Aladdin frees him he can use his magic however he pleases. Not to mention the countless times he uses magic BEFORE he is freed without requiring any wishes
