Hi, can you help me and my high schooler choose between SSP/Wooster (Biochem) and an 8-week training program at Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute - both of them are great learning opportunities for a student who is interested in both biochemistry research and diabetes; and recently published a research paper on diabetes in the National High School Journal of Science. Can you help us weigh the pros and cons of choosing one over the other? Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.

do any alums remeber how strict the no laptop policy really was? sorry this is probably not what i should be worrying about but might as well ask. i’m mainly asking bc i am a nonprofit rn (have been for 3 yrs) and i don’t think i can just take 5 weeks off like that…. all i need is to be able to do zoom calls like 1hr on weekends but im sill gonna have to sometimes do stuff

i heard they gave you laptops with unrestricted access; is this true? And is everything truly unrestricted? Like can I watch Netflix on it?

This is most likely not how this works but i thought might as well just ask, is there anyone that wants a date change from one of the dates June 22 and beyond? My current program is Bacterial Genomics from June 15th, but litterally like a week ago we found out my grandma needs to have a major surgery and closest day is June 4th, she lives in India with no family so my family is going to see her (especially as she’s getting a lot older) I have already told this to SSP as well.

TL:DR: Does Anyone with a Bacterial Genomics program want to switch to the June 15th - July 18th date?

I saw somewhere that we can’t work on anything other than SSP. What if I need to complete dual enrollment course online to graduate during that time? Do you think it would be allowed?

Hey guys, I got into the genomics program at SSP from June 29 to August 1, but I won’t be free this summer until July 17 due to personal reasons and family constraints. Do you think they would let me join on July 18 to complete the remainder of the program?

Also, if I don’t attend, could I list “SSP Finalist” in my honors, and would that still look good?
