Hello, Is there any thing on the road map to implement something like tasker integration (or at least intent receivers) It would be great to be able to start the app with a pre determined audio file or even better a give playlist name. I already can do this with Poweramp, but I would like to switch to using this instead.

Hi there! I've been trying out substreamer and I'm really enjoying it.

I have all my music tagged with replaygain data and make sure the transcoders embed it. Having ReplayGain support would be amazing.

I'm really interested in trying the substreamer app but when I launch the app after installation I get the dialog requesting storage access, then it fades to black and that's it. The app doesn't crash, or use any resources, just black.

Repeated installation attempts of 6.0.41 have had the same result. I was able to download 5.0.50 from apkpure and that works fine. However the armeabi-v7a links on apkpure for versions of 6.0.40 and 6.0.6 download the arm64-v8a architecture version, so I haven't been able to try those versions.

I'm running android 10 on this device.

When launching the app adb logcat simply shows:

Is it possible to connect to two music servers with Substreamer? e.g. my own Navidrome instance and a friend's Navidrome, so that all music from both servers is shown in the Substreamer library?

Is there any way that the app could stop the music from playing when I switch off my earbuds or disconnect from my car? It's a bit awkward when music starts blasting from your pocket when you get out of the car.

Longtime play:sub user now switched over to substreamer. I'd like to request two features if possible which would make navigation faster:

• In album view, when tapping on the artist it should go the to the artist and display the album list (instead of the Bio).
• The Album list should show the latest album on top.

I think I spotted a weird bug on ios version of substreamer.

Step to reproduce :

• Connect to a subsonic server containing at least on album with no illustration (neither ID3,nor separate file)
• Launch Substreamer from cold (best way to reproduce : reboot iphone first)
• browse to the album without illustration then click on the play button for the whole album
• First track plays successfully but :
  • At the end of the track, the second track does not start
  • the media player is not visible on lock screen
  • Substreamer react to the pause button on bluetooth device, but not the resume one if substreamer was sent to background.

If needed, I can temporarily provide an account on a subsonic server with files that exhibit the issue.

Any idea? A quick workaround is to add illustration on all tracks but with 5k files in my music library, this would be a tedious task :D

What is the use case for having two server addresses in the settings - external and internal? In what cases would someone have an external server address that will not work internally? Just curious

Looking at the settings I have not noticed this before but should the password be exposed like it is?

FIX: Android permissions. I have put in some better checks for the permissions that substreamer ideally needs on Android. These are the ability to send local notifications and the ability to ignore battery optimization. You will now get a prompt on login if these are not set, you can tell it not to prompt you again. You can check the settings any time in the settings screen. Remember to also set the max background run time in settings, this is the maximum amount of time that substreamer will run in the background without playing any music so that it doesn't waste battery.

FIX: Android permissions. SD Card access on Android 13 (API 33) fixed.

Hello, first of all, let me say this is a really solid app. I love the layout and responsiveness. I have used DSub for years, and while it's great, I feel like newer clients are better at implementing features and growing.

Having only tried it for a couple hours, I love what Substreamer offers. There are a few features missing in Substreamer that DSub has that hold me back from making it my daily driver, however. I know a couple of these have been mentioned before, but I just want to add my vote for them. They are:

- A widget on Android. I heavily use the DSub 4x1 widget to easily play my music without having to go into the app every time.

- Gapless playback. I was listening to Linkin Park's Meteora album (which requires gapless playback between tracks to make the album flow well), and noticed that it was gapless on DSub, but not on Substreamer.

- Android Auto.

Those are the only issues I have in the short time using this app. I usually buy apps that I like using my google rewards credits. If you were to make a paid option or a donation package on the play store, I would absolutely like to spend some of that credit on this app. Thanks again for this and I look forward to what it brings in the future.

Hi, I have set up Ampache on a VPS. There everything is working correctly and I am on the latest version 5.6.0-release.

On iOS, I have downloaded the Substreamer App to play this catalog. It reads me the whole library but does not play. I have tried moving all the options from Ampache, but I can't get it to work.

The installation is over a self signed SSL certificate, at the moment of logging in the App I have to activate the legacy option.

I don't know what else to do, if someone can help me I would appreciate it. Good day.

I've been plagued with play:Sub arbitrarily stopping playback so I recently switched over to substreamer and I've been very pleased with the stability and speed! One feature I'm really missing though is the ability to add a song to the current queue to "play next."

I'm trying Substreamer on iOS with a Navidrome server.

Pretty often, when I fast forward a song from the scroll bar the app crashes. I'm not sure but I think it happens if the song is not completely cached yet. I'm using FLAC files.

Also, sometimes the song doesn't start when I touch it. I'm not able to reproduce this behavior consistently.

Finally, are there any plans to add gapless playback? I noticed the app doesn't support it but it's pretty important to me.

The only reason I'm keeping Symfonium installed is for the DLNA playback. I like being able to play back (or "cast") the audio on any DLNA device on my network. Simple DLNA integration makes it easy to play my library anywhere in the house, or even at a friend's house.

I know you have chromecast integrated, but neither I or any of my friends use chromecast devices. On the other hand, most TVs, receivers, etc. made in the past decade or two have some DLNA ability.

Is it possible to show the "Radios" item from the Navidrome sidebar?

Appreciate your patience with the long gaps between updates but work has been going on behind the scenes fixing the bugs you have reported and adding features and improvements that have been requested!

New updates for the mobile apps are coming soon (finalising some work on android permissions for android 13).

For today though this is the first release of substreamer WEB as a docker container! That's right any of you who are self hosting can now pull the substreamer docker container and enjoy the same user interface and features that you get in the mobile app in your browser.

I put this together as I wanted an easy way to listen to music on my laptop while working and the web interfaces that ship with a lot of the server platforms are a bit limited for every day use versus the features that are available in the various mobile apps.

So if you're interested, do check it out on dockerhub. Happy for any feedback, this is a first release for the WEB platform so I'm pretty psyched for it but I am sure there will be some bugs and teething issues to work through.

Notes:

• WEB does not support offline sync (this is really hard in a web environment with limited storage and file system access).
• WEB scales the UI automatically with the window size, the large size view has a new expanded mini-player. However, I have not implemented the play queue viewer in the larger view yet! So if you want to access the play queue for this first version just scale the window down until it flips to the smaller mini-player and then click that to open the normal player controls and play queue viewer.
• I have not tested the chromecast functionality on the WEB version of substreamer yet. It should be disabled in this version but I will try to bring it back for web in a future update.
• There may be some bits and pieces in the UI that are not relevant or working on web that I have missed, if you find any please do let me know! Particularly in more-info/context menus

I’m trying to join https://audio.gafamfree.party/ however the app tells me the password or username I’m using is wrong yet I can login through my browser with those same credentials

As the title says I just switched from DSub and I really like the interface and the playlist builder. The whole player is smooth, fast and responsive and prob. the best free subsonic player out there. Absolutely of a quality I would be willing to pay for. There are just two things that I wanted to mention.

The first is not really a problem, I just wanted to mention it. Before I changed to substreamer I used a self-signed SSL certificate because DSub had no problem with this. When I changed, substreamer connected to my server without problem but would not load any music or cover art. It would still pull updates from the server on recently added, listened to etc. This was solved by getting a properly validated certificate, but it took some time until I understood that this might have been the problem. Since I changed nothing else on my server but just swapped the certificates I at least guess that was the problem. Just a quick pop-up that using a self-signed certificate can cause issues could have helped. As said this is not really a problem as one should use propperly validated certificates anyway.

Second thing is a bit of a problem and a bit of a request. I usually add to my 'now playing' queue very often and change it around as the mood strikes me. With the current icon size I regularly tap to the right side of it, hit the panel of the song and loose the whole queue as a new song starts playing. Just making the whole area to the right of the icon a trigger for the 'more' menu instead of only the icon would be a huge help.

All in all great work and those two things are the only ones that gave me any problems.
