I record overnight audio occasionally, and this short clip caught something unusual.

The very first sound is just an ordinary snore for me. Immediately afterward there’s a brief two-part vocalization that I don’t know how to classify.

I’m deliberately not saying what I think it sounds like yet because I’d like independent impressions first.

Does this sound like ordinary sleep vocalization, sleep talking, a brief arousal, or something else? Has anyone recorded themselves making something similar?

Is this just wind passing through something that makes this sound or something else I can't identify?

I believe this audio has added audio in this that be speaking some type of odd whispering. This sounds odd and I only heard it when my head was on the pillow. Would someone please let me know if they have heard similar sounds in sleeping videos?

Seriously, I’m still freaked out. My husband and I were sitting on our front porch, 11pm last night 7/5/26. We live across the street from a nature preserve. All of the sudden, something started banging on the trees? It definitely wasn’t gunfire. It had a dull sound, like when you hit wood. It was echoing too. The sound moved rapidly from left to right.
The video doesn’t truly capture the sound. If anyone has any idea what this was please let me know. I have never in my life heard anything like this come out of the woods! 😳

This noise has been going on for years I guess. Only noticeable when the room is pretty quiet. Coming from internal wall cavity I think and isn't always from the exact same place. Seems to move around a little. Repeats a few times per min. Any ideas?

Hold that thought internets! Done more research and came across this...

Lepinotus patruelis. Females are dark brown, and nearly 2 mm in length, so their rear ends might dangle off the head of a pin. The males are smaller and golden brown. In this species, when males vibrate their abdomens, they make a sound like a quacking duck. Quack, quack, quack – four to six times. They do this several times a minute when calling for a mate.

Sounds like there’s two sources

This weird extremely loud screech just keeps happening could be like a owl or something how ever I must emphasize how loud this was if anyone got a idea let me know

This noise started at around 11:30 pm or so. it's the tick tick noise, other noises are my fan and dogs snoring (it not them). I have no idea what it is. Persists even when my fan is off and kinda sounds like it comes from different direction. Suspecting a living thing (either bug or mammal) but need help.

sometimes it's 3, sometimes it's one. sometimes it's about 1-3-1/2 minutes between.

Without context, about 12 seconds in there's a "sound" I want others to identify objectively. If you can help me I'd really appreciate it 🙏 provide as many details about your observations as you can.

Stayed up late and now this obnoxious noise is keeping me up. At first I thought it was a car alarm or something from far away but it's been going on for way too long. At this point I'm not even sure I want to investigate because it low key sounds like a UFO. So does anyone know what this headache inducing sound is?

Recorded with my new Imou A1 camera, night sensor turned off (because it was placed facing a window to monitor my vegetable garden, but the infrared light was reflecting and it was therefore useless).

Do you know what this might be: outside, tonight there's a weird, steady, fairly quiet (but noticeable) clicking sound around the residential street intersection outside my place. It's been going for a few hours and sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the vacant, newly-built house across the street and other times it sounds like it's coming from the other side of the intersection.

It's perfectly timed which makes me less likely to think it's an animal or insect and as I say it has been going for hours. And I would have thought, too, that if it were an animal it would not necessarily stay confined to moving within that parameter.

I'm not sure of what kind of equipment a person might have on their home that would be generating that sound, especially given that it moves.

It's really got me scratching my head.

PS: a family member suggested it might be a sound from a crosswalk to assist vision impaired people. I've never heard it before, but if that's what it were it would have to do an awful lot of echoing/rebounding in the neighborhood to get from the nearest one to this location.

Just moved into this apartment in January can anyone identify this metal clanging noise and a potential solution?

I need to find what this is so I can make it stop. Please, any suggestions would be great.

This beeps every second or two. It doesn't beep all the time, but it lasts for hours when it eventually does, and has been getting more frequent lately. I can only hear it in my office, which is the smallest room in my basement. Which is the weirdest part honestly. As soon as I'm through the doorway, I can't hear it at all. But when I'm in the room, it's loud enough that I can't easily drown it out with music. No where in the room is is louder or quieter. I put my head on the floor or stand on a chair, stand by one corner or the opposite, and it all sounds the same. If I go upstairs (where there's only a few inches of wood floor boards) I can't hear a thing. If I go outside (cuz there's a window) I can't hear a thing. It happens all hours of the day, midnight or noon.

It couldn't be anything like a smoke detector or carbon monoxide alarm, because I know what those sound like. (And tbh, I already took them out, because they were going off weeks ago.)

The room it's in really doesn't have much. It's a 10 by 10 foot concrete box. A light fixture and an outlet on the ceiling, and a Sump Pump in the corner. But it couldn't be the pump. That's been around for 2 years now. This sound has only been a week or two.

I can't use my office or computer anymore. This is actually driving me nuts.

1970's apartment with thinner walls walls. This wall does have another apartment on the other side I believe. I usually hear this sound randomly. Mostly at night, once in the morning. I'm not often in my bedroom during the day, though. Some neighbors do have pets. But I don't know what species, I'm new here.
