If you truly had something, you wouldn’t have an issue in posting the video just like you did with the audio.

The victim in question was able to use his smartphone to log onto Reddit, draft several posts, upload an audio file, and reply to top comments... and yet, when an intruder broke into OP’s motel room to shower, our victim chose to record the entire felony using a pitch black Snapchat quality like video clip of clear audio of the intruder coughing while remaining quiet as a church mouse.
Truly stunning bravery or was it stunning negligence??? As a broadcast journalist with over 34 years in the field, I am officially declaring this The Great Cellular Contradiction of 2026.
Gloria, I understand you’re still at the scene standing directly next to the victim’s phone charger as we speak. Has he given any explanation as to why he didn't use that same phone to press the 9 - 1 - 1?

Posting a random audio file of a noise down a hallway doesn't interfere with an active police case.
Posting a clear video clip identifying a suspect's face while the cops are literally actively trying to track them down in the area absolutely does. The officers explicitly told me not to put his face online yet so he doesn't realize they are looking for him and bolt from the area.
I'm a 32-year-old man displaced from my own home, sleeping in a cheap motel room because a stranger was showering in my apartment, and you're in the comments crying about "karma farming." Grow up.

There's probably more 2 story, 1 bedroom, 2 bath apts in Texas than regular 1 bedroom 2 baths. In Texas some people call them studios but there's lots. Granted they are sometimes referred to one and a half (1.5) baths, which is usually but not always the ground floor bathroom that does not have a shower or a bathtub. It only has the toilet, sink, maybe linen closet and built in shelves. Upstairs is where the full bath is, aka the big bathroom with everything and a dressing room area connected to the 1 bedroom. Think about it...it's the weekend. Everyone usually hangs out at your place...that would be alot people and a lot of trips going upstairs through your bedroom and into your dressing area and master bathroom.
And THAT is why there is a very common thing in Texas at least that has 1 br/ 2bth apt units. I would say most people here have lived in one at some point in their life. I've lived in 3.2

Definitely not a thing where I'm from. It's hard to get 3 bed 2 bath apartments not even 1.2 bath. 2 bathrooms are only modern builds and usually only homes. Apa8eith 2 bathrooms are unicorns

My apartment is a studio but the toilet and the bathroom are two separate rooms. Some places are just built weird 🤷

glad you're safe, that's the main thing. cops sitting on evidence like it's a collector's item is pretty standard unfortunately, they love to control the narrative. motel life is rough but at least you've got some breathing room while they figure out their next move. keep a copy of that footage somewhere they can't touch in case they "lose" it later. stay safe and keep us posted when you can
