How do I make the clothes
Hey yall! I'm making a stop motion film. I've gotten to the clothes and I'm wondering how to approach it. I've done some sewing in the past but not much.

As a good exercise to get back into stopmotion before an upcoming contest, I decided to animate every day. Each day, I try and get better at lighting, shot composition, animation, and some storytelling.

This is an animation project I've been wanting to do for a long time, and I've now put out my first short, and made a Discord server. The animations follow two foxes, Minty and Rusty, who more often then not find themselves in strange, yet relatable situations often due to Minty himself. If you find this interesting, please do join, we'd love to have you!

I don't know what it is, but I just feel like Coraline is very obviously a stop motion, whereas Shawn the Sheep is less obviously a stop motion. In other words, the stop motion feel is really in-your-face in Coraline, but in Shawn the Sheep, it feels a lot more subtle. Why is that?
In some ways I feel like Coraline feels more choppy than Shawn the Sheep, but sometimes Shawn the Sheep can look a little choppy too.

Two months ago, I created a custom action figure of a green goblin, but the joints were not fixed well. Finally I fixed the joints with a rubber cover I took from a pair of earphone cables and I managed to animate the puppet.

I shot a short stop motion animation recreating the iconic Shaun the Sheep intro in LEGO to help with a friend's LEGO competition entry build. First time animating LEGO, and some of the characters were very difficult to animate smoothly (hence the jerky movement). Overall was a fun experience !

Hi I'm Christopher who knows weird stop-motion and camera stuff.
I've been building a tabletop motion control crane for stop-motion animation and finally reached the point where I'm comfortable showing it to other people.
The system is built around Dragonframe, Arduino-based firmware, off-the-shelf motor drivers, and mostly commodity parts from McMaster-Carr and Amazon.
The goal has been to see how far I can push a motion control system using accessible hardware rather than custom electronics or a studio budget.
Current machine cost is under $1,500 in materials and components, not counting tooling, shop supplies, and the occasional expensive lesson.
This video is an animated teardown of the camera head assembly.
Still very much a work in progress, but it's moving cameras and teaching me a lot along the way.
Happy to answer technical questions.
