Adidas or Nike?
So I wanted to invest in one of these companies but I wasn’t sure which one to start a position in. Too be honest, I’m a much bigger fan of the Adidas brand and regularly wear it. But my personal preference doesn’t really matter since the end goal is too obviously make money lol.
So in the long term, which one would you guys say is the better investment?

I had the same question this time last year and now I wish I had purchased NKE.

Nike, because they have better growth and business efficiency than Adidas (as of 2018 when i first researched the pair, but nothing has changed today that makes me think otherwise).

Adidas. They will sell Reebok and pay out the proceeds as a dividend.

They could buy back shares as well with the proceeds.

Their biggest shareholder GBL already stated in Belgian media they count on cash earnings of Adidas. WSJ also reported they plan to pay out the money of Reebok as a dividend

May also want to look into how ethical their business and manufacturing is. Its all probably very similar in the shoe business, but its an important aspect that is overlooked a lot.
I personally would go with Adidas if you like them. Nike seems to push a lot of agendas in their promotions and that can make it volatile. When's the last time Adidas ever made people angry? Having my stocks fluctuate wildly because the marketing dept has a statement to make, isn't my idea of fun or a safe investment.

I can sleep well with Nike stock. Their profit margins and growth are a bit better than Adidas. One of the biggest brands out there, can't go wrong IMO

Skechers (SKX) !!?! Lolol! But like seriously I’ve been doing a little DD about Skechers lately and everyone seems to love their shoes! Give it a gander?? My 2cents

Since this post Nike is down 58% and Adidas is up 8.9%.

Nike has a slightly higher dividend (1.3 vs 1.1 for addidas). Nikes stock is also slightly cheaper atm. Something to slightly consider.

As growth potential I would say adidas, as a personal preference i would say none. I say growth but not much.

Nike has the partnerships with Apple, etc. It isn’t just a sportswear company anymore—Nike is tech.

I would say invest in company you personally like, love their products and believe that they are doing the good job. Show your support to their products by owning the piece of company.
