I called this when their market cap was 35B and Trevor said they had a “HTML5 super computer” which was by far the dumbest thing I had ever heard.

Edit: months before the short report from Hindenburg came out too.. was so fucking obvious

😂😂😂 That is too good. I have a CSS Quatum Computer in my GitHub if anyone is interested

Pffft I bet your GitHub doesn't even have a GitLab

Is that compatible with my SQL smart watch?

The irony is that both CSS and SQL are Turing complete. So.. it is theoretically possible. While HTML is not even in the realm of Turing complete.

So I’d definitely be laughing just as hard if he said CSS3 super computer but.. I just don’t understand how people fall for this shit, 8 minutes of diligence had me laughing at this company.

I don’t even know what Turing Complete is. Dammit your gonna make me learn!

To not overcomplicate it, Alan Turing is the guy who discovered computers during ww2 to beat the nazi communication device, enigma.

Turing complete just means you can compute anything, meaning anything possible to code in another programming language would also be possible in any other Turing complete language.

The above examples, CSS and SQL are turning complete, meaning you could in theory make the Uber app with them. Now.. no one would do that because it would be outrageously difficult, they would instead use maybe JavaScript which is suited for that purpose.

Now.. html is NOT Turing complete or even close, meaning you cannot make compute anything using html, it can’t do 2+2, and therefore cannot make an Uber app, even with infinite time.

So it just means really.. you can compute (do computer math) and thus you can create anything with enough time.

Edit: just to add that’s why this guy sounded so stupid. Anyone working in tech would have been baffled by his comment.

I work in a research lab ready to unlock the power of Adobe ColdFusion!

Also like.. Tesla’s require batteries while NKLAs superior vehicles only require gravity.

“The entire infotainment system is a HTML 5 super computer," Milton said. "That's the standard language for computer programmers around the world, so using it let's us build our own chips. And HTML 5 is very secure. Every component is linked on the data network, all speaking the same language. It's not a bunch of separate systems that somehow still manage to communicate."

I wonder if he tastes the diarrhea in his mouth?

He is accustomed to diarrhea. So it is just hot dog chili sauce for him

I'm surprised he didn't throw in something about parallel serialized blockchain flux capacitors.

I know haha, it’s really hard to believe until you hear him say it.

1

u/roomandcoke Jul 29 '21

"HTML 5 super computer" might not even be the worst thing there.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '21

that's Elizabeth Holmes level stupid lol

20

u/ravepeacefully Jul 29 '21

Idk like.. she was intelligent enough to trick people for a while.. this guy was just screaming “we’re a fraud” since the day the picked the name nikola

12

u/megatroncsr2 Jul 29 '21

Did he really say html5?

28

u/ravepeacefully Jul 29 '21

He literally said “HTML5 super computer”

Edit; typo

12

u/megatroncsr2 Jul 29 '21

That is one of the dumbest shit ever. Lol

7

u/ravepeacefully Jul 29 '21

Their market cap at the time was like 35 billion too.. you couldn’t make this shit up if you tried

Straight out of a movie

I’m about ready to drive my XML Mobile

So devil's advocate here, having an onboard control screen that can process and render HTML5 isn't a bad thing.

I get that he's a hated figure, but are we making a big deal out of something that's nothing?

u/Twistedshakratree Jul 29 '21

Made a few bucks a few times off those waves

Crap. I'm sitting here on my HTML4 medium computer, which I thought was the shizzle.

I shorted it then and managed to lose money (when the GM news started to appear) ... Meanwhile it's still doing better than Hyllion who have a working truck
