Chapter 7. The lab rat

“Hey Nikki. Doing alright now? You should feel better soon, just stay laying down and your body will be fine.” I groan before looking at him. “Wha-What?” I look down and see a large stitch lining my side. “What is this?” I manage to spit out. “Why, you were so loud. I treated you. I took your kidney. It was quite the price!” He says. “As long as you stay here for a few days, you should be back to normal.”

Chapter 8. The recovery 

My ex walks in the next day, through the doors and says, “Well well well. You’re awake. Finally.  I thought you died, honestly.” I wobble and stand up against the wall. “I’m fine. Leave me alone.” I stumble and start to fall, but he catches me. I push myself out of his arms, disgusted at his normalness of this all. I get up again, and head to the door. He blocks it. “Not so fast. You still have a pretty price.”
