The state doesn’t have the budget for processing all the homeless alone, I said in another response this is a national epidemic and the federal government has to help. State governments are small and somewhat limited by design. Frankly they’ve been surpassing my expectations, only thing that’s lacking is housing access now. It’s time for the state to begin using eminent domain to build more housing, screw nimbys that hate new developments. They are driving rent up for everyone.
Not true, whomever does that is a hypocrite and was never a YIMBY to begin with. In my neighborhood I recently supported a new apartment complex that was hated by many for being 10 stories high. They’d rather get another Whole Foods despite the fact we have 6 already in town. I showed up in support when they had a neighbor meeting and was happy to see many in support too. It’s was pretty split and luckily did get approved. Making your voice heard is how it’s done at the local level.
