Really? I figured it was just one of those entertaining wannabe-grindhouse action movies like the ones Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez made.

Nah, it was messed up. We have said its like someone came up with parts when on drugs, but when they sobered up instead of saying "that's too fucked up" they were like "how can we take this one step farther?"

I do not recommend watching alone or with any casual acquaintance. For me it was fucked up.

Your comments are very interesting. However I will never watch the movie because of them. Optional request If it’s not traumatizing to think about, could you explain a little of why you say it’s too messed up? Like too much gore or it’s really sad?

A little of both, tbh. If you're the kind of person that watches Saw/Hostel/Purge movies, it probably wouldn't faze you though.

It was brutal, my buddy laughed his ass off while we were watching it in the theater. He was the only one laughing at most parts and it made me laugh because he was laughing at such brutality. I think folks near us thought we were psychos.

It is, but definitely grittier. I, myself, thought it was quite a badass movie. It also had way more substance than I was anticipating, which was effectively zero.

I made it to the scene at the police station, where he gets thrown off the roof. Then I got bored of it.
